THE DAWN SANITARYWARE DIVISION

In 2009 The Dawn Sanitaryware Division (DSD) was established to comprise Vaal, Libra

and Plexicor. For over a century, collectively, these household brands have been

committed to producing quality, durable and sophisticated ceramic and acrylic

bathroom products.

Whilst quality is at the fore, demonstrated through a comprehensively designed range

of toilets, basins, bidets and baths representative of years of research and

development, all products are also manufactured with comfort and aesthetics in

mind.

The DSD cluster employs just over 400 factory staff at their Meyerton plant. The plant has

a sophisticated factory ensuring that the cluster can service local as well as export

market with both standard and upmarket sanitaryware. In addition to these lines DSD

also produces a range of exclusive, Whirlpool indoor and outdoor spa tubs.

DSD is driven by a desire to be top of mind, as a result Vaal, Libra and Plexicor are

focused, forward thinking and committed to keeping up with growing popularity and

demand by creating a professional network of distributors throughout Southern Africa.

This network is capable of being attentive to the needs of every sector of the

sanitaryware market. DSD is committed to delivering quality products with professional

partners who are passionate about each of the DSD brands, both individually and as

a combined offering.

While DSD is dedicated to keeping up with the times, current research and design is

focused on nano-technology and expanding water saving mechanisms whilst also

focusing on the launch of new and dynamic product ranges.

While the domestic and hospitality markets remain important to DSD, there is also a

commitment to servicing hospitals, clinics and schools with appropriate products.

Further to this, DSD also services the disabled market with a unique range of

paraplegic suites.

DSD understands the importance of looking after the environment and being

environmentally sustainable both in terms of the product manufacture and factory

operations, as a result DSD has implemented a number of sustainable processes in

their factory. Sustainable initiatives include; a water reticulation plant, the utilisation of

gas in an attempt to reduce electricity usage as well as a crusher which eliminates

scrap dumping.

Vaal, Libra and Plexicor are proudly South African and are presently represented in

South Africa and into Southern Africa in the likes of; Huambo Angola, Port Louis

Mauritius, Maputo Mozambique, Lusaka Zambia, Harare in Zimbabwe and in Lagos

Nigera. Further to these established African markets DSD looks forward to tapping into

further developing African markets including Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Malawi,

Congo and Ghana.
