Welcome to our dream…Mackey’s is named after our grandpa, Thomas Mackey Grove who was an avid lottery player. Even before he passed-away, he’d slip money to visitors from his hospital bed asking them to buy him a lottery ticket. Grandpa Grove had always said he would buy us a restaurant with his winnings. Although he never won, we come from a family used to doing things the hard way…which is part of our heritage from Grandpa as well. In honor of Grandpa and all of our ancestors who worked hard for their dreams, we opened Mackey’s…a place for

Mick Mackey All Ireland Hall of Fame (This article on the left speculate that he’s the best leveler who ever played). He retired in the late ‘40’s and was the nephew of Bridgett. Named into the Hall of Fame for Hurling in the 1930’s. The article notes the hurling prowess of Mick’s father the famed Tyler Mackey and grandfather, the legendary Anthony Mackey. Born in 1912. The Mackey Stand was created in his honor.
