CRAFTED BY HAND – PROUD CHAIR-MAKERS
THE DIFFERENCE IS IN THE HANDS
We are a major armchair manufacturer but a relatively minor furniture manufacturer.
High specialization has created a rational handcrafted production. Human hands grind,
upholster and mount. Eyes inspect, hands examine that everything reaches the right
level of quality. Here, human beings take responsibility, never machines.

THE ESSENCE OF CONFORM
In-house product development
THE ESSENCE OF CONFORM
A new armchair is much more to us than just beautiful shape and comfortable lines.
We add function and movement, new materials and technical solutions. The close
cooperation with external designers is a stimulating process, often concentrated to
our prototype workshop. We give and take, spur each other, and allow both the eye
and the rest of the body to assess the end result. Every new model consists equally
of comfort and shape. – We never compromise on that!

THE ESSENCE OF CONFORM
COOPERATION WITH EXTERNAL DESIGNERS
They form our visions
COOPERATION WITH EXTERNAL DESIGNERS
Product development is a central and very important part of Conforms business
concept. Our close collaboration with a number of external designers is therefore
crucial for our armchair range to keep the design vivid and make us competitive in
the eyes of many. Every new chair is an interpretation of our vision – Design for Life.

COOPERATION WITH EXTERNAL DESIGNERS
“It’s a matter of turning challenges into opportunities, and keeping the original sketch alive. When I look back at my products, the ones that appear to be the simplest and most obvious are the ones that proved to be the greatest challenges.

OUR RAW MATERIALS
Materials, flair and quality
OUR RAW MATERIALS
It is just like when cooking; it all depends on the raw materials whether to succeed
in creating comfortable and yet stylish armchairs. We use only natural and clean
materials, which in themselves evokes many of the ideas. The result is – pure and
simply – absolutely stunning.
Leather – 3 different qualities
Hides – Sheepskin from New Zealand
Fabrics – various qualities / patterns / colours
Wood – massive and molded oak, walnut etc.
Polyurethane foam – molded and cut
Steel – high-grade steel in the frames
Aluminium – casted feet
Materials, flair and quality
OUR RAW MATERIALS
We work primarily with three various grades: standard, semi-aniline and aniline-
leather. Their qualities differ a bit, just like our buyers’ needs and preferences.
A few words about leather
OUR RAW MATERIALS
A corrective, cover-dyed and grained leather where most of the natural irregularities
generally are removed. The quality is very resistant to stains and dirt. The high
durability is provided by a polymer surface coating, which contains pigments. It is
not quite as soft and smooth as aniline and semi-aniline leather, but easier to keep
clean and require less care.
Soft and dyed leather with a light coating, which contains a small amount of colour
pigment, applied to the surface. Some natural irregularities and marks may be pre-
sent. The leather offers good comfort and breathe well. Shade variations occur as
dyeing is affected by natural differences in the skins, such as marks by scars and
insect bites.
OUR RAW MATERIALS – A FEW WORDS ABOUT LEATHER
Standard leather
Semi-aniline leather
Our finest and most natural looking leather with a light surface coating and colour-
ed only with dye. A very soft and smooth leather that, when treated properly, patina
beautifully with age. It requires some extra care, as the surface is open. The hides
have natural colour nuances. Marks by scars and insect bites occur, and forms part
of the personal feeling. A unique skin for a unique piece of furniture.
Aniline leather
OUR RAW MATERIALS – A FEW WORDS ABOUT LEATHER
Leather, general care instructions
OUR RAW MATERIALS – A FEW WORDS ABOUT LEATHER
Most leather has some kind of surface protection. When the furniture is used,
grease from, for example, hands, head, and neck slowly dissolve the surface
protection and eventually penetrate the skin as dark spots. Therefore, the skin
need to be cleansed and a skin protective product should be applied regularly
on exposed parts. How often this should be done depends on quality and use.
Do not put the furniture too close or tight to a heat source (at least 20-30 cm).
Avoid exposing your furniture to prolonged direct sunlight.
Avoid moisture.
Dust on a weekly basis with a soft cloth and lukewarm water or vacuum with a soft brush.
Maintain surface protection regularly, especially in exposed areas.Ask your dealer what products are most suitable for your furniture.

OUR CRAFTSMEN
Our sheepskins are delivered from some of the best sheep farmers in Australia and
only from sheep of the species Crossbred, guaranteeing high quality. The skin is
curly by nature, but the structure may vary both in terms of curls and shade. Two
skins are never identical. Therefore it is essential that both seat and back are made
from the same skin. In case you would like to add something later, there might be
hard to find exact matching leather. Our colour samples are only an indication. The
skin is prepared and dyed according to our high standards of environmental and
animal husbandry.
Although suffering from fur allergy, you can still use the product.

OUR RAW MATERIALS – A FEW WORDS ABOUT SHEEPSKIN
Dust and dirt often gather in the bottom of the fell, which makes it necessary to
ventilate and vacuum clean the furniture regularly. Use a stick roll for loose dirt.
Stains should, as soon as possible, be soaked with cold water. Clean with a
sponge, soaked in lukewarm water and a mild soap especially made for wool
if necessary.
Do not expose the skin for prolonged direct sunlight.

OUR CRAFTSMEN
Our metal components are produced in high quality pipes and steel especially
suited for the furniture industry and is used for frames, components, armchair feet
etc. The manufacturing process consists primarily of tube bending, robotic and
manual welding and casting. High quality and finish are required on visible parts,
this means that grinding, polishing and control is essential. Surface treatment:
powder coating, brushed surfaces.
A few words about metal
OUR RAW MATERIALS - A FEW WORDS ABOUT METAL
For upholstery we use molded 55-kilogram polyurethane foam - so-called cold
foam - and in some cases also cut 35-kilogram polyurethane foam. A high density
provides good stability, high comfort and long-term durability. When molding, we
inject parts of metal, wood and feathers into the foam, often in combination with
Nosag suspension.
The supplier is ISO 9 000 and 14 000 certified.
Polyurethane Foam
OUR RAW MATERIALS - A FEW WORDS ABOUT POLYURETHANE FOAM
OUR CRAFTSMEN
We use wooden components both in visible parts and to reinforce constructions by
embedding parts in cold foam. The wooden parts consist mainly of molded wood
but also of parts in solid wood. In the molding process, approximately 5-12 selec-
ted veneers are glued together, then being formed under a pressure of about 450
kg in combination with microwaves. After the molding process, the component will
be processed in the CNC machine, hand polished and painted.
The careful process results in high strength, quality and surface finish.
A few words about wood
OUR RAW MATERIALS – A FEW WORDS ABOUT WOOD
Oiled wood brings out the material’s natural structure. Graining, colour shifts and
knots give a unique character. To maintain the protective surface, the furniture
should be treated with oil once a year or whenever it feels dry. Use furniture oil,
which penetrates the surface. Follow the instructions carefully. Protect the uphol-
stery from oil spills. Keep in mind that all wood changes with age. As the furniture
ages the colour of the wood will mellow and change. This is a natural process that
occurs as the surface of the wood is exposed to oxygen in the air and to
ultraviolet light from the sun. Any stains can be rubbed off gently with
a rough Scotch-brite sponge. Re-oil again.
Oiled surfaces – wood
OUR RAW MATERIALS – A FEW WORDS ABOUT WOOD
Vacuum the furniture regularly and avoid exposing it for direct sunlight. Depending
on the quality of the fabric, the sensitivity to stains differs. Brighter fabrics are
generally more sensitive than darker. And different types of stains require different
measures. Always try to clean as soon as possible. Follow the fabric washing
instructions, or consult your dealer.

OUR ENVIRONMENTAL WORK
CONFORMS environmental work is cha-
racterized by good environmental respect.
When selecting materials the ambition is
always long term sustainability and minimal
environmental impact.
Our environmental objectives are annually
defined in accordance with current laws,
requirements, technical feasibility and input
from external stake holders. Also financial,
operational and business effects have in-
fluence on the objectives.
FOR EXAMPLE, wherever possible we choo-
se European wood as specified in the EU
timber regulation, and recyclable aluminium.
Our packaging is mostly produced from
recycled materials. Shipments are coordi-
nated and our suppliers are to 80 percent
locally represented in Sweden, which mini-
mizes the need for transportation overall.
ALL OF THE COMPANY suppliers must
comply with legal requirements regarding
environment and working environment, in-
cluding Reach’s, UN and ILO’s international
labour standards.
