Harbour Shipping is pleased to be able to offer an alternative method to placing your ferry bookings with us.

In addition to booking by phone, fax or e-mail you may make your bookings on-line at your own convenience.

This freight only booking facility is currently available to clients holding a credit account and on the services of P&O Dover–Calais, DFDS Dover– Dunkerque, Eurotunnel, Irish Ferries, Stena Line and Scandlines Deutsch-land.

All you need to do to utilise the booking portal is register with us via our website and then you are in a position to make your own bookings 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

In order to register, all you need to do is visit our website select the registration option

Choose the No Account? Sign up today and you will be asked to provide the information on the registration page

Once you have registered for on-line bookings you will need to provide your e-mail address and password to be able to log-in to the portal

Access will be available to as many, or as few, e-mail addresses as you wish and only one password per company will be required to access your account.

You will then be in a position to log in to the portal and make bookings on those services for which you have agreed rates. For vehicle lengths that you have not obtained a price from us you will have to do so prior to being able to book these crossings online.

Once you have logged in with your e-mail address and password you will be taken to your main page of the portal where you can make bookings, search bookings that have been made and make amendments to your company profile.

Your Profile

Making A Booking

You may add as many contacts as you wish to your profile page which will enable them to make bookings on your account.

The primary contact details are those held on our booking system and you can update any of these details by amending the information in the relevant box and clicking on the “Update Profile” button.

When you are issued with your initial password by the system you When you are issued with your initial password by the system you must change it. This is done by going to the update password option and then entering the original password you have been issued. Then enter the new password you wish to use in the “New Password” box and confirm it in the “Confirm Password” box and then click the “Update Password” button.

Passwords need to be at least 8 characters long with one or more alphabetic (a-z) and one or more numeric (0-9)

YYour authorised users are listed at the bottom of the page and you can add as many users as you wish by clicking on the “Add New User” button and entering the required details in the fields at the bottom of the screen. You are able to authorise users to make bookings and/or amend the company profile and can also unauthorise users by unticking the “active” box.

You are now set up to make bookings via the web portal and to do this you must click on the “Create New Booking” box.

Your company name and HSL account number will appear in the top box on the screen with the routes and services available via the on-line system in the next drop down box – (i.e. Calais-Folkestone (Eurotunnel) or Calais-Dover (P&O Ferries Freight).

Outward routeChoose from the drop down list and click on the desired route and select, to the right of the service/route list, Choose from the drop down list and click on the desired route and select, to the right of the service/route list, whether you wish to book a one-way crossing or a round trip. Please note that if you are selecting a one-way crossing, for instance back to the UK from France, this will still be referred to as the Outward route.

You must enter the date required for the crossing and select a sailing time from the drop-down box to the right. Please note that on cross-channel services you are not obliged to use the sailing time requested.

Vehicle Information – Outward route

Other Information

Length (m): You are required to enter the vehicle details for the crossing. Vehicle lengths for which you have agreed rates on the requested route will appear and you must select the relevant vehicle length as listed.

Vehicle registration: Please enter the registration number of the vehicle

Load details: Please select from the options whether the vehicle is laden, empty or carryting hazardous goods

No. of persons: Please select the number of drivers/others with the vehicle

There are a number of items of information that you can add in order to obtain a confirmation and add a job reference so that you can identify the movement more easily.

Client reference: Optional field in which you can add your job reference for the crossing

Email Address for Confirmation: Choose from the drop down list the e-mail address you wish the confirma-tion to be sent toAdditional E Mail Address: You can add an additional e-mail address that will receive a copy of the booking confirmation but will not be stored for future use.

Mobile Country Code: Select from the drop down list

Mobile Number for SMS confirmation: Enter a mobile number to receive a free booking confirmation by SMS

At this time the “Payment” options will only show as “On Account” as this facility has not been made available to our cash clients.

You must the tick the box indicating that the vehicle is within normal length and width limits and is carrying general cargo

TTo make the booking please click on the “Click Here to Book” button and our computer system will send a booking request to the relevant supplier and, upon receipt of a booking reference from them, will send you a booking confirmation by e-mail and/or SMS.

The booking will then appear on our system so that we are aware of it.

Search Bookings

In order to assist you in tracing bookings you have made through the web portal, you may make a search using any of the following criteria:

Booking Reference – please type in relevant unique reference

Client Reference – please type in your reference

Search Routes – choose from the routes and services listed in the drop down box

Booking Status – select CONFIRMED / SHIPPED / PENDING or FAILED from the drop down box and it will list all bookings of that status

VVehicle Number – enter a vehicle registration and it will list all bookings made for that vehicle through the portal

Vehicle Load – you can list all vehicles that have shipped either Laden or Empty

Booking Created Between – select a start and end date from the calendars and all bookings created via the web portal between those dates will be listed

Travel Date from - select a start and end date from the calendars and all shipments that have taken place for bookings created via the web portal between those dates will be listed

Click on the “Search” button and all jobs found will be listed beloClick on the “Search” button and all jobs found will be listed below.

Click on “Print Search Results” for a written report

Items That May Not Be Booked Through The Portal

Amendments

Driver Numbers

Please be advised that, at the present time, the following items may not be booked via the online booking portal:

Abnormal Loads

Hazardous Goods

Livestock or Bloodstock

Tourist Bookings

Children as additional passengers

VVehicles stating TBA as a vehicle registration number – a valid registration number must be entered.

Bookings for the above will have to be made through the members of our ferry booking team at this time.

You are unable to amend a booking through the portal, should you wish to make an amendment you will need to speak to our office staff.

The maximum number of drivers that you are able to book with P&O on their Dover – Calais service or with Eurotunnel on their Folkestone – Calais service is four.
