Aged 15-18 Surprisingly they valued personal face to face teaching as
backbone of their learning Felt that if all learning was computer-mediated it would lessen
value of their education 95% used social networking and of these 65% used it regularly 62% used wikis, blogs or online networks 12% only regularly use podcasts 44% maintain web site or blog regularly 76% have never or very rarely taken part in Second Life

So what do we do?
Digital natives and digital immigrantsAdapt our techniques – avoid long sets
of instructions to start with, emphasise experimentation
Hold LAN parties after hours in librariesFacilitate, be guide on the side,
especially in ICTEncourage peer-to-peer
