Introducing your

Quiet Timea special time that you set aside each day to read God’s Word, to get to know Him better, and to learn how He wants you to live. During this time, God speaks to you through His Holy Word, the Bible, and you speak to God through prayer. What an adventure! As a Christian, spending this time in God’s Word every day is very important for you to grow closer to Him.

Personal Prayer Diarywhere you can write prayer requests to remind yourself to pray for people that you care about and things that are happening.

Quiet Time Activity Pageswhere creative activities challenge you to understand the truths from the Bible every day.

This booklet is divided into two sections:

Hey, Parents! This Quiet Time is a great opportunity for you to have fun together with your child. Here are some tips to help your child get the most out of their time in God’s Word.

• Sit down with your child around the same time each day.

• Gather supplies needed for activities.

• Use the Bible to look up references together.

• Talk through the activity and personal application.

• Encourage your child to use the prayer suggestions in the Pray section and pray with them.

• Complete the week by documenting how many days were completed and writing an encouraging note.

There is a Word of Life Quiet Time available for every person in your family! Look up Family Devotionals at wolstore.org. Since all the Quiet Times are based on the same Scripture passage each day, it’s a great way to get the whole family talking about what they’re learning from God’s Word.

Church should be a place of prayer, singing, learning God’s Word, and other acts of worship. Church should never be a place of lying, stealing, and cheating.

Praise Jesus for being so wonderful!

One way you can show others you want to follow Jesus is to sing a song of praise to Him. Go ahead and sing a song for Him right now! When you are done, color the musical notes.

The people following Jesus shouted their praise to Him.

The Pharisees didn’t like Jesus because He was teaching that they were doing wrong things. The Pharisees didn’t want to be wrong, so they wanted to get rid of Jesus.

Everyone is invited to join God in Heaven. You just have to choose to believe Jesus died for your sin to accept His invitation.

MATTHEW 22:14MATTHEW 21:45-46

Pray for missionaries who share Jesus’ invitation with others.

Start at the arrow. Write every other letter on the blanks. If you want to accept God’s invitation to Heaven, talk to your parents, a church leader, or your pastor.

The Pharisees were doing the right things but for the wrong reason. They wanted to show off, not to please God. God wants you to do good things because it pleases Him.

The Pharisees didn’t always do the things they taught the people. Sometimes they broke their own rules. Do you ever tell somebody to do something (like share), but you don’t do it?

MATTHEW 25:32MATTHEW 25:22-23

MATTHEW 25:10-12

Right now, people who know Jesus and people who don’t know Jesus can live, work, and play together. When Jesus returns, He will separate those who know Him from those who don’t.

God wants you to do things to please Him, to honor Him, and to help others know Him. Then when He returns, He will say to you, “Well done, good and faithful servant!”

The door to Heaven will be shut when all believers have gone in. Many will stand at the door wanting to come in, but because they did not believe in Jesus, they will not be allowed in.

34

Pray that others can learn about Jesus.

Together and separate are opposites, just like good and bad. Put an X under Good if the action is good. Put an X under Bad if the action is bad.

Good Bad Things you can choose to do:

_____ _____ give money to a missionary

_____ _____ share things you have

_____ _____ tell a lie

_____ _____ go to church

_____ _____ not listen to your parents

Ask Jesus to help you be a good and faithful servant.

Write or draw something that you are good at and talk about how you can use it to please God.

Pray for someone who does not know Jesus.

Connect the dots. Start with 2 and count by 2’s. Will the door to heaven be open or shut for you? Talk to your parents or a leader at church to find out how you can know for sure the door will be open.

You have choices to make in life.

Choices

Jesus suffered for your wrong choices. You must choose between good and bad. You make right

choices when you choose to follow God.

Jesus told his disciples to be careful and pray. They knew the right thing to do, but they chose not to obey. That’s why it is important for you to pray. You need to ask God for the strength to fight the temptation to do wrong.

Jesus could have called upon God, His Father, to rescue Him, but He didn’t. He loved you so much that He knew He must suffer and die for your sin.

MATTHEW 26:53-54MATTHEW 26:41

Even Jesus’ disciples said yes to sin at times. You must be ready to say NO to sin. Judas did not say no. He took money to have Jesus arrested.

Jesus’ blood was shed for the forgiveness of your sin. Jesus died to take the punishment for your sin.
