Human Features Honored recently among the Seven

Wonders of the World, Christ the Redeemer statue stands tall at the Corcovado Mountain near the city of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. The statue symbolizes Christianity and is an icon of Rio and Brazil. It is one of the most recognized statues in the world. This statue was built in 1931. Construction started in 1922 and was completed in 1931.

Physical Features The Amazon River is the world's

second longest river. It’s approximately 3,980 miles long.

Iguazu Falls is taller than Niagara Falls and is within a rainforest made possible by the high-rising mist that Iguazu Falls creates.

Most cars made in Brazil run on ethyl alcohol instead of gasoline. Ethyl alcohol is cheaper than

gasoline and it keeps the air cleaner.

Brazil's railway system has been declining since 1945, when emphasis shifted to highway construction.

After World War II highways were given the top priority in the improvement of Brazils transportation system.

Less than 10% of total route consisting of national state and municipal roads are paved and the national highways system designed to join all the state capitals, have been paved.

Many valuable products grow on Brazilian farms and in the forests. Brazil is well known throughout the world for its coffee. Brazil provides ¼ of the world’s coffee.

Sugarcane is also grown in Brazil. Besides its use as a sweetener, it is also made into a fuel called ethyl alcohol.

From the Andes Mountains in the West to the Atlantic Ocean to the East, Brazil has many natural resources. The resources Brazil has are many metals, gems and hydroelectric power that from it’s many rivers.

Brazil is one of the biggest countries in the world

The main land characteristics of Brazil is the extensive Amazon Rainforest in the North and the hilly and low mountainous region in the South. The South of Brazil resides most of the agricultural population of Brazil, as well as the agricultural base.

Brazil is mostly flat to rolling lowlands in North; some plains, hills, mountains, and narrow coastal belt.
