ONE NEW MAN
EPHESIANS
Ephesians 2: 11 – 13
Jew and Gentile Reconciled Through Christ
Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth
and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the
circumcision” (which is done in the body by human hands) —
remember that at that time you were separate from Christ,
excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants
of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But
now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been
brought near by the blood of Christ.
Ephesians 2: 14 – 18
For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one
and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by
setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and
regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new
humanity out of the two, thus making peace, and in one body to
reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put
to death their hostility. He came and preached peace to you who
were far away and peace to those who were near. For through
him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.
Ephesians 2: 18 – 22
Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but
fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his
household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets,
with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the
whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy
temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together
to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

“The gospel is this:
We are more sinful and flawed in ourselves than
we ever dared believe, yet at the very same time
we are more loved and accepted in Jesus Christ
than we ever dared hope.”

1 John 4 : 19 - 21
“We love because he first loved us. Whoever claims
to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar.
For whoever does not love their brother and sister,
whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom
they have not seen. And he has given us this
command: Anyone who loves God must also love
their brother and sister.”
Genesis 6 : 5
The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the
human race had become on the earth, and that
every inclination of the thoughts of the human
heart was only evil all the time.
Genesis 11 : 1 - 8
Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city,
with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that
we may make a name for ourselves...
...So the Lord scattered them from there over all
the earth, and they stopped building the city. That
is why it was called Babel —because there the Lord
confused the language of the whole world.
Nehemiah 9 : 7
“You are the Lord God, who chose Abram and
brought him out of Ur of the Chaldeans and
named him Abraham.”
Genesis 17 : 5
No longer will you be called Abram; your name
will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of
many nations.

Matthew 28 : 19
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of
the Son and of the Holy Spirit...
Romans 1 : 16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is
the power of God that brings salvation to
everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the
Gentile.
Question 1
•Where is the synagogue?
Question 2
•Where do the Gentiles hang out?
Acts 1
When the day of Pentecost came, they were all
together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the
blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and
filled the whole house where they were sitting…
Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing
Jews from every nation under heaven. When they
heard this sound, a crowd came together in
bewilderment, because each one heard their own
language being spoken…
…Amazed and perplexed, they asked one another,
“What does this mean?”
Ephesians 2 : 14

dividing wall of hostility.

We have become...

Revelation 5 : 9 - 10
And they sang a new song, saying:
“You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its
seals, because you were slain, and with your blood
you purchased for God persons from every tribe
and language and people and nation.
You have made them to be a kingdom and priests
to serve our God, and they will reign on the
earth.”
Matthew 6
This, then, is how you should pray:
‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Isaiah 9 : 6 - 7
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the greatness of his government and peace
there will be no end.
