From Thailand to the World
God’s Promise to Us
Isaiah 58:10 (NIV)
“If you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and
satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will
rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the
noonday.”
WorldCrafts Mission
WorldCraftsSM develops sustainable, fair-trade businesses among impoverished people around the world. Our vision is to offer an income with dignity and the hope of everlasting life to every person on earth.
Committed. Holistic. Fair Trade.
WorldCrafts Is Committed.
We are committed to the in-country partners and artisan groups with whom we work.
We help create viable employment for women and men in poverty by:
• Investing in product development• Maintaining certain levels of product
orders• Encouraging sustainable production
practices
WorldCrafts Is Holistic. Our artisan groups seek to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of their workers by:
• Giving men and women job training
• Offering camaraderie, friendship, and purpose, perhaps for the first time
• Giving women a safe haven and counseling as they leave the sex industry
• Encouraging individuals and families to discover abundant life through the partnership they have with their artisan representatives and WorldCrafts
WorldCrafts Is Fair Trade.
WorldCrafts abides by and requires all partnering artisan groups to abide by Fair Trade Federation guidelines.
Fair-trade buyers, such as WorldCrafts, ensure that artisans receive fair wages and that the goods purchased were produced in an ethical and environmentally friendly manner.
WorldCrafts Is Fair Trade.
• Create Opportunities for Economically and Socially Marginalized Producers.
• Develop Transparent and Accountable Relationships.
• Build Capacity.
• Promote Fair Trade.
• Pay Promptly and Fairly.
• Support Safe and Empowering Working Conditions.
• Ensure the Rights of Children.
• Cultivate Environmental Stewardship.
• Respect Cultural Identity.
