Our mission, and what we value: Our mission of One Laptop per Child is to empower the children

of developing countries to learn by providing one connected laptop to every school-age child. In order to accomplish our goal, we need your support. People who believe in what we’re doing and want to help make education for the world’s children a priority, not a privilege.

Our values are primarily comprised in providing children access to this type of tool. In doing so, they get engaged in their own education. They learn, share, create, and collaborate. They become connected to each other, to the world and to a brighter future.

Who are we? Why am I here?

We are an organization that incorporates education with today’s technology via laptop. Together, our goal is to create educational opportunities for the world's poorest children by providing each child with a rugged, low-cost, low-power, connected laptop with content and software designed for collaborative, joyful, self-empowered learning.

I am here to explicate how together, by sharing a symbiotic relationship, we can synthesize our resources and provide these children the scaffolding tools needed to engage in modern day media based education.

Outcomes

Our organization, with the help of people endeavoring to provide modern day education to children much less fortunate has successfully placed a laptop into 1,494,500 hands. This is a mere drop in the bucket compared to the estimated 1,000,000,000 children worldwide with no access to computer based education.

Community Need

Since my youth I have always been interested in helping people less fortunate than I. As an adult I continue to have an admiration to help our impoverished children obtain an education that coincides with media based education.

My personal connection to this organization is based on a belief that our nation among many others is filled with communities that will make room in their hearts to help children such as this young boy who lives in a rural mountainous village in Argentina.

Our use of Critical Thinking

We are an organization that is makes inferences based on critical thinking skills. We strive to discover innovative ways to reach our outputs. To think ahead, and to self-regulate our operation.

We continue to assess children’s strengths and weaknesses to design a product to suit their needs.

Our use of Critical Reading

Critical Reading is prominent within our organization and our outputs as well.

Our organization is always at the ready to formulate questions and seek answers, and to analyze concepts brought forth from our inputs and outputs.

Our outputs greatly benefit from critical reading when they learn to understand text that is written in many world views, to analyze logic, to read structurally, and to deeply comprehend curriculum and ideas that arise as they utilize this laptop learning tool.

Our use of Critical Action

Critical action is detrimental to our mission an d ultimate goal for these children. Critical action in our organization is crucial in getting these laptops to the hands of children across the world.

The use of critical action from the children who receive these laptops is what we strive for.

We look to recreate and in some cases reconstruct education in the worlds poorest communities.

We are here to improve the worlds education one child at a time.

Our children will learn to use skills in concert, to explore implications, to analyze, and to problem solve.

A small machine with a big mission. The XO is a potent learning tool designed and built especially for children in developing countries, living in some of the most remote environments. It’s about the size of a small textbook. It has built-in wireless and a unique screen that is readable under direct sunlight for children who go to school outdoors. It’s extremely durable, brilliantly functional, energy-efficient, and fun.

For your time and opportunity to earn your foundations support. Please keep in mind our future is determined by the youth of today.

Together we can give these children a chance to break away from their norm and engage their cognitive capabilities.
