You will also see how to get the most out of the resources on the Foundation Center’s GrantSpace website.

Résumé “Workshop” Open HouseFind all of the résumé help

you need at the Baker Branch on Monday, June 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

This informal, all-day résumé “workshop” will include laptop computers where you can come in at any time to prepare your résumé and leave when you are done. A Baker Reference staff member will help you find and use résumé templates, update an existing résumé, help you with submitting a résumé online or help insert a résumé onto an online job application.

Participants will receive a handout with helpful hints for résumé building and a list of résumé help websites. Computer usage will be limited to a first come, first served basis. Please bring a USB jump drive in order to save your finished résumé.

Didgeridoo Down UnderCalling all teen music-heads! You’ve heard that weird “drone pipe” sound

in experimental, avant-garde, and industrial music – well, now’s your chance to come check it out, up close and personal!

Lindsey Dank will be performing on the Didgeridoo, an Australian musical instrument that Aboriginal people of the Kadaku region have been playing for more than 1,500 years. For more information, contact the individual library branch.

A Visit with Will Hillenbrand!Nationally-known author and illustrator Will Hillenbrand

Hillenbrand uses an “idea journal” so the audience can witness how his rough sketches grow as he works, including the tricky parts of book-making. We will see where his ideas come from and how he turns them into stories and books.

One World, Many Tunes! Members of the Louisiana Sinfonietta, under the direction of Dinos

The Sinfonietta’s 45-minute program, “One World, Many Tunes,” includes lively shorts with classical music selections for various combinations of a 7-8 musician ensemble, and will conclude with a special musical folktale performed by Judy Constantinides.
