Challenging Assumptions

Page 2: Once upon a time 2

From time to time …

Man's Best Friend is abandoned … by its owner

Page 3: Once upon a time 2

… and we decide to take them

… to our veterinary center

Page 4: Once upon a time 2

But … dogs barking in the veterinary center

Page 5: Once upon a time 2

… make people be annoyed by 24 hours of noise

Page 6: Once upon a time 2

What can we do?

100+ of ideas came into life after a brainstorming session

1. Isolate the noise with egg carton, that can be decorated with the logo and the colors of the veterinary center

2. Promote the center among the neighbors offering a discount for 1st visit or recurrent visits

3. Identify why the dogs are barking. It could be because of the location is so cold, so temperature could be regulated. Some other ideas can come from this fact

4. Make a campaing to involve people from the neighbourhood to make them concious about the objective of the veterinary center

5. Offer a free service of companionship for sick children or elders

6. Having a pet may help people achieve health goals, the clinic may promote that as slogan or motto

7. Train dogs as Therapy Dogs

8. Create a dog walking program

9. Create a dog daycare program

10. Buy anti-barking collars

11. To avoid noise, use cork to cover all the veterinary clinic and pet shopUse a electric shock dog collar every time barking

12. If they stops barking reward them.

13. Use a whistle that only dogs hear and bothered their ear, for every time barking.

14. Put the dog that is barking in a cage soundproof until up to stop barking

15. To sleep all the dogs that are barking

16. Wet to the dogs when barking

17. Pat on the head to dogs stop barking

18. Keep to the dogs doing exercise until stop bark

19. Move the veterinary clinic to another place

20. Tell the neighbors to learn living with barks.

21. Tell the neighbors to put in their home with sound proof material

22. Tell the neighbors to put music in their home so high the volume to not hear the barking

23. Do not accept dogs, just cats or other pets

24. Send to the dogs to another place away from the neighbors

25. …

… the last 10 ideas

91. Advise owners to keep toys or snacks they can give to the dogs while waiting

92. Use ultrasonic technology that avoids barking. Ultrasounds are activated when noise is over the suitable level.

93. Having a big garden in the clinic where dogs can run and play

94. Use a more precise system of turns to reduce waiting time at the clinic. Calling customers with a text message 5 minutes before they can be attended. Until this moment the barking dogs owners have to stay outside walking with the dog.

95. Offering complementary services at the clinic to entertain the pets, like training, walking, hairdressing or washing service. It can be also an opportunity to make money.

96. Give dog education advice to the owners to prevent barking.

97. Advise owners to make some exercise with the dog before coming to the clinic to prevent anxiety

98. Build the clinic in a place far from the neighbourhood and provide some transport facilities

99. Using muzzels100. Sedate barking dogs while waiting
