Throttling ProcessEnthalpy remains constant

Expansion of a fluid from a regionof high pressure to a region oflow pressure through a porous plug.

ExampleWater passing through a faucet.

Ideal gas - no temp. change.

Real gas - temp. may increase, decrease or remain same.
