BUDGET UPDATE

October Receipts 32,251.42 Budget Receipts YTD 585,286.50 Budget Needs YTD 605,734.00 ______________________________

We are excited to continue our annual

outreach event, Trunk & Treat. While

we have made some changes to ac-

commodate for current health guide-

lines, we still need volunteers. We

need trunks and plenty of them. Vol-

unteers will decorate the trunk of their

vehicles, park in the big parking lot,

and greet children and families with

candy. This year, we are allowing for

more space between vehicles and

eliminating bounce houses, popcorn,

and snow-cones. If you would like to

donate candy, you can bring it by the

church office M-Th 8:30-4:30. We

hope you can help us reach out to our

community during this fun event.

State Mission: $1,875.00 has been given towards the State Mission goal.

Ministers Appreciation Month The month of October is dedicated to the appreciation of our ministers. The deacon board would like to encour-age you to express your thanks and gratitude to your pastoral staff. ______________________________

Thought of the Day

“I don’t want a conversation, I don’t want to leave your presence without somehow saying something about Jesus.” -Dr. Benny Pate

In a phone call last Tuesday, Matthew asked, “Pastor, what’s the plan for Sun-day?” My answer: “I plan to be there and finish the series on the Seven Churches of Revelation.” Matthew to Scott: “He doesn’t sound good, you better have a sermon ready.”

Thank God for our staff who so capably lead us and step in without ever missing a beat!

The last couple weeks have reminded me of how precarious life really is. Regard-less of how strong we may think we are, a microscopic germ can absolutely sap our energy and waylay all normal routine. Thankfully, the Lord’s work is not hin-dered by our weaknesses.

“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth nei-ther faints nor is weary. His understand-ing is unsearchable. He gives power to

the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.”

(Isa. 40:28-29, NKJV)

As we all continue through this pandemic, I pray that you will find your strength and joy in the One who never sleeps and works all things “together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purposes.” I am anxious to see you again and to worship our great God together!

Communicating with the whole church via one outlet, such as email, has al-ways been a dilemma and through the years we have managed this with some success. These past few months have made it all the more necessary for an instant means by which to contact eve-ryone with ease. Over the next several months you will be hearing about a new system we are implementing here at First Baptist. This system is called Realm. It is an online database to manage our mem-bership. You, as a member, will not no-tice much of a change. However, over the next few months we will be contact-ing you to make sure your membership profile is up to date (ie. address, email, family members, persons in residence, etc.). In time, this system will allow us to mass communicate with the whole church, as well as individual groups such as Sunday School classes and ministry volunteers. It will also stream line attendance at all gatherings, help with event check-in, and many other features that will help us better serve our church. We appreciate your patience during this transition, and we are excited for the future here at First Baptist.
