PTA Program Proj ects/Activities Accomplished Since Last Report

• 129 applications have been processed during this year's application cycle. 55 applicants have been invited for an interview. Interviews will be held June 4. The following are some interesting statistics from this year's applicant pool:

o 36% of applicants have never attended JSCC. o 31% of applicants did not meet minimum requirements for applying (indicating a lack of knowledge

about the application requirements). o 100% of applicants had some prior college experience. o Many applicants had prior degrees but notably common was coursework and/or degrees in Health and

Human Performance or Exercise Physiology from four-year institutions indicating the lack of employment opportunities for these majors.

• Clinical education begins for the Class of 2014 next week (one student has been delayed by emergency surgery). PTA faculty will be visiting during the week of June 17 — 21.

• Clinical site commitments are now being sought for the summer of 2014. Spring 2014 clinical sites are already mostly confirmed.

Projects/Activities Planned for Next Week • Interviews on June 4. Applicant selection will be finalized on June 5 and final letters will be mailed out
