Hardware and Software Requirements

• Supported Operating Systems: Windows XP ; Windows Server 2003; Windows Server

2008; Windows Vista

• Processor: 1GHz Pentium processor or equivalent (Minimum); 2GHz Pentium processor or

equivalent (Recommended)

• RAM: 256 MB (Minimum); 1GB (Recommended)

• Hard Disk: Up to 500 MB of available space may be required ; 1GB (Recommended)

• DVD Drive: required

• Display: 1024 x 768 high color, 16-bit (Minimum); 1280 x 1024 high color, 32-bit

(Recommended)

OMT Introduction

General Introduction Connecting Methods

1. Local Communication via RS232-cable.

2. Remote Communication via Modem (Short Message).

Functions

1. Control Functions ： Parameters of devices can be configured via local or remote

communication.

2. Search Functions：Current parameter settings and alarm setting can be displayed.

3. Alarm Functions：Active alarms can send back to control center (OMT)

Main Menu of OMT Software Menu Bar：Configuration

1. MOID List Config: To define the parameters of the monitoring equipment.

2. Alarm Level Config: To define the level of alarm items.

1. Upgrade Firmware: To upgrade firmware by local communication.

2. Upgrade Memmap: To upgrade memmap by local communication.

3. Packet Analyzer: To analyze the data sent and received.

1. About: To display version of OMT and something about corporation.

OMT Install & Remove

OMT Install

1. Double click the Setup.exe file in OMT installation folder

2. OMT installation interface ->Select path ->Click Next 3. Continuously click Next 4. Click Close and OMT installation finished

OMT Remove

1. Select program-Netop -> Uninstall OMT

2. OMT remove interface -> Select Yes

Configuration management (System Operation CM)

Set Communication/Local check

1. Communication Port：Select the correct port number

2. Communication Speed：Default: 9600

3. Communication Mode：Select RS232

4. Communication Timeout：30 Sec.

1. R Switch: To refresh the serial port

2. Start: To establish connection between the computer and devices.

3. Stop: To terminate connection between computer and devices.

Set Communication/Modem check

1. Communication Port：Select the correct port number

2. Communication Speed：Default: 9600

3. Communication Mode：Select SMS

4. Communication Timeout：60 Sec.

Com Port Configuration

Note: Communication Port represents to the serial port used by the computer. Usually, serial port

of the computer’s default setting is COM 1

For the latest laptop, which is not equipped with serial port, we have to create the serial

port by USB-Serial conversion cable. In this condition, the COM port will not be COM1,

but COM5 or COM6 etc.

Establishing Remote Connection

1. Connect a wireless modem to the computer of control center.

2. Login to the main screen of the OMT. Choose SMS

3. Create a new device：

Enter the SIM card number inside the device’s modem in Device Phone column and

then Set the site ID.

4. Set Remote Communication Setup：

Enter the SIM card number of the modem that will be connected with the laptop in

Control Center Phone No.1~ 5 (You can set Phone2~5 or not).

Choose Short Message as Remote Communication Mode, and then Set. User can

choose suitable service that the operator has provided.

5. Click Get and then Search to confirm whether Remote Communication

Parameters has been set successfully.

6. Connect the BTS port with donor antenna cable, before remote communication; it

will take 1 minute for the initialization of the modem inside the device.

7. If Short Message is set during Remote Communication Setup setting, click Start. After 10 seconds, choose the site ID and then click Get. The

device’s parameters will be read and displayed on the screen.

Device Operation

Device Create Get MOID From Device

1. Equipment Number ： Select the equipment type(Single:FF ； Master:00 ；

Slave:01~FE)

2. Protocol：Select the protocol

3. Device Phone：Configure the device phone number in remote mode

4. Open the com. port -> Click Get MOID From Device -> Build MOID list automatic

User Configuration

1. Build MOID list by user Configuration

2. Equipment Number ： Select the equipment type(Single:FF ； Master:00 ；

Slave:01~FE)

3. Protocol：Select the protocol

4. Device Phone：Configure the device phone number in remote mode

5. Open Menu Bar->MOID List Config ->The user to configure the equipment needed

for monitoring parameters

6. Open the com. port ->Choose Device Type -> Click User Configuration

Configuring the Device The scope of monitoring items:

Scope Items Description

0x0000～0x00FF Device Information Equipment general information

0x0100～0x01FF Monitoring Parameter Configure the number and Communication mode

0x0200～0x02FF Alarm Enable/Disable

Equipment won’t send the alarm when it is disable; and

the alarm status will be normal when OMT enquiry it (Non-

alarm status)

0x0300～0x03FF Alarm Status Equipment will send out the related alarm when meet the alarm condition

0x0400～0x04FF RF Parameters Details monitoring parameters of modules

0x0500～0x05FF Operation Status To provide the active sampling data of operating status to

the OMC, and manage all the active sampling data of

device modules

Monitoring parameters interface description

1. Get: Search all the parameters checked

2. Set: Set all the parameters checked

3. Select All: Pick up all items in the interface

4. Clear All: Clear all items in the interface

5. MultiSelect: Pick up some items

6. MultiDeSelect: Clear some items

7. Check: Pick or Clear

8. SetValue: Set parameters according to type of equipment（Grey one is not

available）

9. GetValue: Display information of equipment. In Alarm Status will display Alarm or Normal

10. Unit: The unit of parameters

11. Status: Display feedback or not with Success or Failure, and no operation with

None

Fault Management (FM)

Alarm Monitor Window

Send alarm automatically

Equipment sends the status automatically to OMC, such as alarm, alarm removed, and

channel configured. The confirm package OMC feedback to equipment do not need any

parameters and equipment can confirm it by package series number.

Set Remote Communication Setup：

Enter the SIM card number of the modem that will be connected with the laptop in

Report Phone No.1、2 (You can set Phone2 or not) .

Choose Short Message as Remote Communication Mode, and then Set. User can

choose suitable service that the operator has provided.

The items will display red highlight if the module is power off or unlinked.

Upgrade

Upgrade Firmware By Local Mode

1. Confirm the local communication is okay

2. Click Tools -> Upgrade Firmware -> UpgradeFirmware interface”

3. Click button Open File ->Select upgrade application program file(.hex) -> Click OK

4. Click Start -> Start obtain Firmware Version

5. Display Erasing flash，please wait...

6. Display Upgrade in progress..., start udgrade

7. Upgrade finished, display Upgrade Succeed! -> Click OK, upgrade successful!

8. Search Device Parameters -> Check the version

Configuration：

Module Address：00-FF

Timer(Sec)：5,10,20,30,60,90,120,200,600

Packet Size(Byte)：1024,2048,3072,4096,7168

Send Count：Count of package

DeviceType：Equipment type

Firmware Version：Displays the current Firmware version

Upgrade Memmap by Local Mode

1. Confirm the local communication is okay

Alarm Level Configuration

Users can configure the alarm level flexibly according to the conditions of definition

Alarm level definitions

Alarm Level Description Color

Serious 3 Interrupt the service of BTS coverage area and interference

the network such as shut down, power off, self oscillations red

Major 2 Interrupt the coverage of equipment or lower the service

quality such as main modules are damaged orange

General 1

Reduce the coverage range of equipment or lower the

service quality such as functional components are

damaged

yellow

Normal 0 Alarm removed green

1. Configuration ->Alarm Level Configuration

2. Choose Alarm Level

3. Save

Cmcc Packet Analyzer

Transmit data packet analysis 1. Copy SendData or ReceiveData to the CmccPacketAnalyzer

2. Click Analyzer，and the data will display as the following figure

3. Click Exit to escape
