and tools than ever before. Internal consistency checks in the

database keep your data in order and securely stored using user

credentials. The Postgres database has virtually no size limits

and thereby fits well in the philosophy of OmniTRANS to bring a

scalable and flexible environment to create models of any type

and size.

Increased performanceOmniTRANS version 8.0 is built on a 64 bit software architecture.

This means that the application can use much more of the

memory available in modern PCs and thereby your transport

models will run faster and bigger model sizes are supported.

In addition, the new database is also bringing you increased

performance. Data is always indexed which improves the speed of

access. The database optimises itself. Opening a network scenario

and bulk writes of large algorithms can be up to 20% faster. When

Data driven modelling

OmniTRANS 8.0 enables the easy integration of data from various

sources, opening the route for full data driven modelling.

The database can easily be connected to sources such as GSM

data, public transport information (AVL, ticketing), traffic lights

and many others. This allows you to calibrate your assignment

to observed route flows from bluetooth sensors and turn flows

to data obtained from loops at signalised intersections. When

combining the Postgres database with the PostGIS extension, the

GIS possibilities of OmniTRANS will expand even further.
