This Development well is the first in Malaysia to utilize the new generation of drilling risk mitigation tools from OMNI

OMNI Versatile Drilling Reamer (VDR) was installed at top of BHA replacing the conventional fixed blade stabilizer. Carefully selected drilling parameters and revised drilling practices resulted in drilling this highly deviated well efficiently and with reduced drilling risk. Drill pipe was pulled to surface on elevators and casing was run smoothly according to plan. Best Practice summary: Mechanical Risk Mitigation:

• OMNI VDR with top PDC cutters

• Back reaming 1x before every connection while drilling

• Back reaming 2x before every connection at sections with high torque while drilling

• OMNI VDR placed at top of BHA in case of mechanical obstruction while pulling out of hole

Hole Cleaning:

• OMNI VDR with TCI on blades and low side utilized

• 5” Hydroclean drill pipe utilized

• Circulation maintained at 1000GPM

• Circulation 5~7 times bottom ups before POOH

• RPM maintained at 180 Mud System:

• SBM at 10.2 ppg for the entire section

Perfect hole condition was achieved with torque and drag within acceptable limits String was pulled out of hole on elevators smoothly Casing was run efficiently according to plan

OMNI VDR equipped with Tungsten Carbide Inserts (TCI) on blade OD has contributed to improved hole condition while drilling and tripping OMNI VDR equipped with PDC cutters and placed near the top of BHA to facilitate back reaming while drilling. This offered a valuable risk mitigation tool for clearing obstructions while pulling out of hole
