The Milwaukee Zoo Presents
Polar bears and penguins may live on
opposite sides of the globe, but this
45-minute show teaches children what they
can do to help these magnificent animals
from home. Join a film crew in Lights,
Camera, Arctic! to help Ursus the polar bear
slow the effects of global climate change.
Then the audience will become pirates to
help a Humboldt penguin find its treasure in
The Treasure of the Sea.
Concepts presented include habitats, energy
conservation, sustainable seafood and more!
Most appropriate for grades 1-5 and families
with children of all ages.

This is story of the Ravensbruck Rabbits:
seventy-four women prisoners in the
Ravensbruck concentration camp. The

what life was like in Ravensbruck. More
than a war story, this is a tale of how the
strength of women’s bonds can carry them
through even the most difficult situations.

Forging a friendship at the height of the
Civil Rights Movement, Odette, Clarice

In an effort to promote financial stability and
asset building in our community, the
Kenosha VITA Coalition (United Way of
Kenosha County, the Kenosha County Job
Center and Carthage College) together with
IRS-certified volunteers are providing free
income tax preparation assistance to
low-to-moderate income families.

Ryan (former Salem Grade School teacher
Diana Riechers) went from a teacher with an
idea for a storyline to a three-time
self-published author!
Tips on how to edit and revise a novel, and
how to self-publish on Amazon will be
shared. Copies of her debut novel The
Carrier (set in Wisconsin Dells) as well as
her second novel will be available at the

Learn to make a set of quilted potholders!
Whether you’re an advanced quilter or just a
beginner, this is a great opportunity to hone

own. A working sewing machine is

Youth Services Programs
In its ongoing support of the Library, the Friends' Board voted to donate $5,000 to
contribute towards Youth Services programming for 2017.
Funds will be used to sponsor youth program materials and program presenters. The
Friends are pleased to be able to contribute to a vital part of the Library’s services.
