Reviewing the two viable proposals – select M2 as the proposal that best meets OLLI’s needs

OLLI at M2 Building –

Beginning July 1, 2015

With the generous support of the University of

Illinois’ Office of the Provost and the funding

provided by the Osher Endowment, OLLI will move to

its new location in summer 2015.

The new facility offers

significantly larger and

more flexible space. It

will enable us to meet

the needs of our

members and fulfill

OLLI’s potential as a

continuing site of

engagement,

education, and

enrichment for all.

OLLI will continue to offer the same high-

quality courses, study groups, and

programs that you expect and deserve.

• Courses, study groups, lectures, and other activities will continue.

• The expanded space will allow us to offer more of the programs you enjoy – and to consider new opportunities for lifelong learning and engagement.

• Atkins Building –

4,300 square feet

• M2 Building –

8,000 square feet

PARKING GARAGE - attached to the M2 Building Parking is covered, well-lit, and secure.

garage, and elevators

are located on all

levels.

Two gathering areas for members

CLASSROOMS and SEMINAR SPACES

- One large classroom – 150+ (can also be divided

into 2 classrooms seating 65-70 each) –

construction on this space begins March 2015

- One classroom – capacity 65

- Two study group/seminar rooms – flexible

- One multi-use space (no carpeting)

- A board/committee meeting room

Classroom (pre-construction) – these

two spaces will be combined to create

the 65-seat classroom

Study Group/Multi-Use Rooms

Carpeting will be added to this space, and

it will be available for study groups and

variable classroom set-ups

This space will remain un-carpeted, for use by

both study groups and classes, including those

that involve movement (tai chi, etc.)

Board and Committee Room

In addition to the fully accessible public and classroom

spaces, the new facility also offers expanded administrative

space –including staff offices and secure storage space for

files, supplies, and technology.

The M2 location offers easy access to the University of

Illinois campus, public transportation, and many

restaurants, coffee shops, parks, and other downtown

amenities.

ABOUT JULY 1. This date is also the start of the OLLI membership year 2015-16.

All current members will be contacted in May with information about renewing their memberships; new memberships will also begin at this time. All OLLI memberships will be effective through June 30, 2016.
