Schools have a SCHEDULED day off -- you will be notified by e-mail and phone through Alert
Solutions or check our website or Facebook. If there is a delayed opening of more than 1 hour
and OLH/SL has a scheduled 11:45 am dismissal then OLH/SLS will be closed.
Notify your child’s after school provider of the school’s policy in the event of “bad weather”.
Make sure your children are dressed properly for the cold weather.
When there has been an accumulation of snow – the back parking lot office side will not be
cleared – you are asked to park on the front parking lot until the back lot is clear.
The schools in the Archdiocese of Baltimore notify parents/guardians concerning school
closures via Alert Solutions. This notification is sent to email and your phone. It is your
responsibility to update phone numbers and email addresses when changes are made. This
information can be done through PowerSchool by you or be sent to the school office.

The Students at OLH/SLS know how important it is to take part in
helping our neighbors in need. It teaches us compassion
and understanding. We are blessed with many things in our lives- one of
them, having food in our homes. We are called by God to help those less
fortunate than ourselves.
Hunger is an issue 365 days of the year.
1 in 7 Americans struggle with hunger. 48 million people. 15 million are children.
Student Council would like to invite you to show your compassion by participating in
the “Souper Bowl of Caring” Food Drive. It is an anti-hunger campaign that uses the energy of
the Super Bowl to mobilize youth in a united effort to care for people in their local communities
who are hungry and those in need.
The “Souper Bowl of Caring” Food Drive campaign will take place until Friday, February 2nd.
During this campaign, students of OLH/SL are asked to bring in canned goods and non-
perishable items that will benefit our parishes’ food pantry. Please turn in your donations to your
homeroom teacher. The teacher will then hand you a pass that entitles you to wear a NFL jersey
or your gym uniform on Monday, February 5th. Thank you for your continued support and your
generosity.

The IDENT-A-KID Child Safety Program will be at our school on 02/09/2018 to
PHOTOGRAPH, FINGERPRINT, WEIGH and MEASURE children. Unlike a student ID that
is carried by the student, Ident-A-Kid ID cards are carried by all parents and caregivers in their
wallet and on their cell phone. Our ID card is recognized by the U.S. Government’s SSA as a
form of identification. ID cards are often needed for sports registration, travel, student discounts,
and in emergencies. To participate, please fill in the Application Envelope which will come
home with your child and have your child return it to school. Applications are also available on
line directly at http://identakid.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/online-app-1.pdf . Participation
in the program is at the individual Parents’ option. The cost per child is $8 for one card, $12 for
two cards, or $15 for three cards. An eKid ID is the electronic Ident-A-Kid card sent to your cell
phone via text/picture message and is included when ordering multiple cards of the same
child. Please feel free to contact your local program director, Kim Jackson at
[email protected] or at (410) 360-1000, with any questions.
