NEWSLETTER 1 - NOVEMBER 2014 A NEW FUTURE FOR OLD OAK PARK INVITATION TO A PUBLIC EXHIBITION ABOUT PLANS TO DEVELOP CARGIANT’S SITE AND THE HYTHE ROAD INDUSTRIAL ESTATE Welcome to our first newsletter about our proposals for the Old Oak Common area. This comprises the 47 acre Hythe Road Industrial Estate, which is owned and operated by Cargiant, and the surrounding area (see the map overleaf). Old Oak Common has been earmarked for the creation of 24,000 new homes and 55,000 new jobs on site. Old Oak Park Ltd. has been set up by Cargiant, the world’s largest used-car dealership, to redevelop the industrial site – and to find Cargiant a new home locally. We will also be preparing a masterplan to show how our ideas can fit into the wider vision for Old Oak Common. Our plans are in a very early stage. Right now we want to hear what you would like to see in this new neighbourhood and how it should link up with your area and community. We will be holding public exhibitions in your area during the first two weeks of December. This will be an opportunity to meet our team and give us your views. We very much hope you will be able to attend and look forward to meeting you! We have also created a project website oldoakpark.co.uk – which you can use to send us feedback – and we’ll be updating it regularly as the project develops. Kind regards, Tony Mendes, Managing Director, Cargiant.

hYThE roAd InduSTrIAL ESTATEThe 47 acre site is owned and operated by Cargiant, which has been in the area since 1985. It’s a local business employing over 700 people, many of whom are from the local community.

The Mayor of London has identified our site and the area around it – together known as Old Oak Common – as a future regeneration site to provide 24,000 new homes and 55,000 jobs on site. Cargiant is moving locally, but will stay involved and is committed to making this regeneration happen.

Old Oak Park Ltd. is committed to working closely with local residents and groups as we develop our ideas for this site. We want to create a new neighbourhood that makes a real contribution to the local area.
