CourseConstructThecourseiscomprisedof15lessons,totaling15hoursofhighlyinteractiveinstruction.Eachlessonisdesignedtoelicittheexperiencesoftheparticipantsandinstructorsalikethroughparticipationinactivitiesfocusedonactual,relevantleadershipcircumstances.Associatedmaterials are provided to help guide participants through the course, andincludetools,activities,andadditionalreadingthatcanbeusedasreferencesoncethecourseiscomplete.
Using a progressive approach to the concepts addressed, participants begin byestablishing a baseline on the fundamental concept of leadership, progress to theindividualleader,andthentobeingaleaderwithinanorganization.Finally,thecoursewraps upwith in-depth consideration of how theywill exercise authority by applyingwhattheyhavelearnedastheybegin,orreturntotheirroleasaleader.

ModuleOne–CourseIntroduction
Anintroductiontothecoursethatgeneratesenthusiasmforimprovinganorganizationbyoptimizingleadershipabilities.Thismoduleintroducesparticipantstoauniqueandexciting approach to leadership development, and helps set the context andexpectationsfortheparticipantsandtheconceptscovered.
ModuleTwo–TheConceptofLeadership
The cornerstone for the course, this module immediately engages participants byestablishing the basic concept of leadership, and ensures alignment by helpingdifferentiateleadershipfromorganizationalandoperationalmanagement.Thismodulealsobeginstofocustheparticipantsontheimportanceasaleaderofrecognizingboththeirownbehavioralstylesandthatoftheirpeople.
ModuleThree–YouasaLeader
Buildingoffofthepreviousmodule,participantsidentifyspecificareasoffocusattheircurrent experience level that can accelerate their own individual development andgrowth as leaders. This module explores what it means to be a “good leader,”recognizingtheimpactleadershavewhentheycommunicate,andsettingandmanagingexpectationsfortheirteam,theirpeers,andtheirsuperiors.
ModuleFour–LeadingwithinanOrganization
This module introduces the participants to their unique role as a leader in thedevelopmentoforganizational strategy,establishing thestructure required tosupportthat strategy, and developing the people and resources required to execute thestructure. Module Four closes with the most dynamic aspect of leading within anorganization: the constant need and leadership skills necessary to maintainorganizational balance between strategy, structure and people to ensure theorganizationrealizesitsdesiredresults.
ModuleFive–ApplicationofLeadership
In this final module some unique qualities and basic tenets of operations from theUnitedStatesMarineCorpsareofferedaspossibilitiesforincreasingtheinfluenceandeffectivenessofleadershipintheparticipant’sownenvironment.Individualandgroupdiscussions and activities will require in-depth consideration of how participants willapplywhattheyhavelearnedinthiscourse.Finally,afacilitatedreviewofthecourseisconducted that addresses the culmination of what they have learned in the singleprincipleofhowtheywillexerciseauthorityaftercompletingthecourse.
