Thank you for your interest in the Orientation Leader Program! Our goal is to generate excitement for the new
school year by connecting new students with enthusiastic and motivated current students YOU!
We are looking for students who:
Feel they have something valuable and important to share with incoming students and their families
Are currently enrolled at College of DuPage and will be returning for fall semester
Are in good standing at COD (minimum GPA of 2.0)
Have good time management, communication, and speaking skills
Are able to work in a team environment and amongst diverse groups
Desire to work with students, faculty, and staff
Have a positive, enthusiastic, and motivated attitude
Are comfortable or willing to address groups of people
Orientation Leader Program individual interviews will take place April 16-27, 2012.
Benefits and Compensation
Exceptional experience in leadership, public speaking, active listening and teamwork
Be part of a team. Meet new friends and share in several group activities, including training and
social activities
Develop connections with various faculty and staff while learning more about the college process
and resources available at College of DuPage
Letter(s) of recommendation upon successful completion of the program
Make a positive contribution to the community as you make the most of your college experience
Upon completion of the program, students are compensated 1 Preferred Parking Permit/Folletts
Gift Card- a combined $200 value. Students may opt for gift card only.
Training and Development
Orientation Leaders are required to attend all trainings and Orientation sessions.

Orientation Dates: Must be available from 7:30 a.m.- 4 p.m.

5 hours over 2 weeks-flexible with your schedule
May 31 - 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Ice Breakers, NSO Leadership & Program Overview
June 14 - 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Team Course @ Lincoln Marsh, Wheaton (incl. lunch)
June 28 - 9 a.m.-12 p.m. NSO Leader Videotaping, Ultimate COD Scavenger Hunt
July 12 - 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Diversity & Special Populations Workshops
July 26 - 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Mingle Like a Pro & Professionalism Workshops
August 2 - 2 p.m.-6 p.m. Rehearsal & Welcome Call Center (incl. dinner)

APPLICATION INFORMATION
Requirements for Orientation Leader include, but are not limited to:
Must be a student currently enrolled at College of DuPage and will be returning for fall semester
Must be in good standing at COD (minimum GPA of 2.0)

Applicants must have two recommendation forms (attached) completed by:
College of DuPage faculty, staff, or administration
Current or previous supervisor at a job, community service project, or volunteer position
Recommendation forms cannot be completed by the Manager of Student Life, Coordinator of
Student Life, or Coordinator of Student Retention and Engagement
Please submit Recommendation Letters with application or send directly to Office of Student Life
(deadline is same as application).
Individual interviews are required of all applicants. Interviews will take place April 16-27, 2012. Once
your application is reviewed, if you are selected for an interview, you will be contacted for an
appointment.
