History of Oklahoma City• Oklahoma was founded in1889 on April 22nd when

the area was known as the “unassigned lands.” (where the Indians had not been settled.)

• Oil was discovered in the city in 1928. • Oklahoma City is at least 607 square miles wide.

About Oklahoma City.• OKC is the largest city and the capitol of

Oklahoma.• The city ranks 27th in the United States cities in

population.• OKC has at least 1,390,835 residents. • It is the 8th largest city in the U.S.• OKC has been struck by at least nine tornadoes,

eight EF4s and one EF5.

What is there to do in OKC?• There is a place called Gattitown and it is a pizza

place with an arcade and a buffet and there are movies playing in every room.

• There is Bricktown, it is basically downtown OKC. There are restaurants, movie theaters, and a whole bunch of clothing stores.

• There are the OKC city zoo and botanical garden.• There are also White Water Bay and Frontier City.

Oklahoma City’s basketball team.Oklahoma City’s NBA basketball team is the Thunder and their mascot is Rumble the Bison.

About the OKC tornadoes.

• One tornado hit southeastern Oklahoma City on May 19th, 2013. There was another one which was a EF5 on May 20th, 2013, and 5 other tornadoes occurred in the OKC area on May 31, 2013.

The different parts of OKC.• There is the southside which is one of the sides

that have drug dealers, really bad neighbor hoods, a lot of illegals, hookers, and prostitutes, they have a lot of the other one is the eastside.

• The safest parts in OKC are the Northside, and the westside.
