OPERATION JUMPSTART IV

The Operation Jumpstart IV (OSJ IV) multicultural scholarship program was created toassist talented multicultural art direction and copywriting students with tuition to attend4A’s-selected portfolio schools and colleges. The scholarship is underwritten by theAmerican Association of Advertising Agencies (4A’s) Foundation from contributions frommember agencies. Scholarships (An amount between $5,000 - $10,000 will bedispersed in two annual installments) are awarded to students who exhibit extremefinancial need and creative talent. Applicants will be considered for a scholarship if theymeet all of the following criteria.

To be eligible, an applicant must:

• Be registered as an incoming graduate or portfolio school student at one of thesix designated OJS III portfolio schools (VCU Brandcenter, Creative Circus,Miami Ad School, Portfolio Center, Pratt Institute, University of Texas at Austin )or a full-time junior at one of the two designated OJS IV colleges (Minneapolis College of Art & Design and Art Center College of Design at Pasadena ) 

• Be African American, Asian American, Hispanic American, Native American ormultiracial (See following pages for descriptions of racial/ethnic categories.)

• Have extreme financial need• Show creative talent and promise• Be a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.•

Maintain satisfactory academic and creative progress as determined by one ’s  school. If the scholarship recipient leaves the school by transferring or not completing the program, the scholarship will be revoked.
