Why Hydrogen?

We identify and supply niche, hard to find talent across the subsurface, well engineering, discipline engineering and HSEQ areas of upstream globally.

Additionally in APAC & the US we support operate in midstream projects and downstream operations. Our consultants are specialists by discipline and location, combining their global networking skills with local knowledge to provide a holistic service.

This client was looking to grow its engineering team, and take advantage of the increasing opportunities in the offshore Malaysian market.

They required two Lead Engineers, and were keen to employ locals, both for cost and regulatory reasons. Unsuccessful after three months of looking, and feeling they had exhausted the market, they approached us.

Within a week we had a shortlist of three candidates for each of the roles, including local candidates, returning Malaysians and regional ex-pats with an understanding of Malaysian culture and experience of working with Petronas, who could be hired on local packages.

Following interviews the client selected two: a Malaysian who had been working in the US for 10 years and an Indonesian National with previous experience in Malaysia.

Our global practice team has worked seamlessly to build strong relationships with this client’s senior management across Africa, Australia, Norway, SE Asia and the UK.

We now have a strong understanding of their global business operations and culture, enabling us to provide them with high quality, technically niche experts, sourced from around the world, that perfectly match their requirements.

Recently, they required two Reservoir Engineers for a rotation in Algeria, who ideally, for visa purposes, needed to be EU citizens. The global team started searching immediately and, despite the challenging brief, quickly came up with eight candidates, four of whom were interviewed from which two were selected.

One was British, working in Australia, who had previously worked a similar rotation in Kazakhstan; the other was British, working in Aberdeen and already had an internal reference with the client from a previous project. Both were secured in six weeks.
