He has been representing Asian clients for 30 years, concentrating on transfer pricing. Robert focuses on transfer pricing audit responses and solutions. He has been quoted as an authority by Tax Court, Business Week, and Forbes. Robert has been a consultant to several foreign governments, and was a CPA in Florida. He was editor of the Transfer Pricing Handbook and is the co-author of the Transfer Pricing Asia treatise.

Ms Wang Yan, Director, Blocks & Licence Management, China National Offshore Oil Corp.Wang Yan, Director of Blocks and License Management Office, is responsible for mineral exploration and development (Licence) rights and international cooperation in China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC). Ms. Wang has been long engaged in national and corporate major research projects on offshore oil & gas exploration and drilling targets evaluation and was acknowledged with outstanding scientific research achievement awards for many times. During her 27-year career in oil & gas exploration with rich manage-ment experience, Ms.Wang has developed solid expertise in policy and regulation guidance with regards to oil & gas in China, foreign affairs and government cooperation and communication..

Thavakumar Kandiahpillai, General Counsel, Shell Group of Companies, Malaysia.Thavakumar practised in Kuala Lumpur as an Advocate & Solicitior becoming a partner in 1998. In his practice, he was actively involved in litigation, during which time he appeared in several landmark cases, and also in domestic and offshore banking, corporate and commercial work. Thavakumar joined Shell Malaysia in KL in 2000 as Senior Counsel, Corporate & Company Secretarial. In 2001, he then became the Head of Legal at Shell Malaysia Exploration & Produc-tion, based in Miri, Sarawak. He then moved to back to KL taking charge of the Downstream, GP, and Shared Services legal advisory team.

Primila Edward, Senior Legal Consultant, Straits Consulting Group, MalaysiaPrimila has considerable experience in the corporate commercial sector specialising in the oil and gas, construction and maritime industries. As in-house counsel for oil and gas and public-listed companies, she has gained extensive experience in negotiating and drafting contracts tailored for cross border transactions. The consul-tancy she heads has a unique approach in providing legal consul-tancy services for transactional work which is industry specific. Her experience spans across both domestic and international cross border matters and multi-jurisdictional work. She has specific in-depth experience in negotiating and drafting FPSO contracts and has evaluated bids for provision of FPSOs for international oil majors. She advises clients in the Asia-Pacific region in managing cross border risks by identifying such risks and working out strategies to overcome them. Hassan Basma, CEO and Executive Director, Bumi Armada Berhad, MalaysiaMr. Hassan Basma is the CEO and Executive Director of Malaysia based company, Bumi Armada Berhad. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST). He has 30 years of experience of which 16 years have been spent in Asia. Prior to heading Bumi Armada, he was the Vice President of Far East for Single Buoy Mooring (SBM) and the Managing Director of Kvaerner E & C Singapore.

Kamilah Kassim,Parter, Kamilah & Chong, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia & Rajah & Tann, Singapore. Kamilah Kasim graduated from the University of Malaya and was called to the Bar in Malaysia in 1988. Kamilah has been practicing construction law for more than 14 years. She has extensive experience in arbitration and litigation covering all aspects of building, engineering, power and energy disputes. In addition to arbitration and litigation, Kamilah advises on front-end construction and engineering projects. Kamilah has negotiated and drafted many contracts and related documents involving the principal forms of the standard contracts: SIA, JCT, FIDIC, PAM, JKR Form and ICE; in all contracting arrangements including main contracts, sub-contracts (nominated and domestic), design and build contracts, contracts for supply, management contracting and construction management, turnkey, concession agreements, PPP, EPC and bespoke construction contracts. Her career highlights include a period of service as principal legal adviser to Kuala Lumpur International Airport Berhad . Prior to rejoining the Firm in 2007, Kamilah joined Jones Day, an international law firm where she stayed for four years, practising in the field of international arbitration, and specialising in large complex engineering and commercial cases.

Jon Prudhoe FRICS, FCIArb, FAE, Trett Consulting, SingaporeJon is the Director of Trett Consulting’s six Asia-Pacific regional offices and is based in Singapore. He is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, Fellow of the Institute of Arbitrators, a Fellow of the Academy of Experts and an accredited Mediator and Adjudicator in several countries. He has over 30 years construction and engineering industry experience with 20 years as a consultant specifically dealing with contract disputes in the marine, oil and gas sectors. He has played a key role in the success-ful resolution of complex disputes including oil and gas offshore modules (eg AMEC v Stork 2001).

Mr. Uma Shankar Sharma ,General Manager, Observer Research Foundation. IndiaMr. Sharma expertise lies in Petroleum E&P Contracts and related Fiscal Regime. He has a strong engineering and business background and has worked in Oil and Gas sector in India for about 23 years. During his deputation in Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, he was actively involved in policy formulation for accelerating exploration of oil and gas in India as well as promot-ing exploration of non-conventional sources of hydrocarbons, such as coal bed methane.

Kevin Reeves BSc, MSc, MRICS, MCIArb, Senior Associate Director, Trett ConsultingKevin Reeves is the Malaysia country manager of Trett Consulting, an international consultancy providing commercial advice and contract claims support for engineering and construction projects. Kevin is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 20 years experi-ence in the industry. He holds an MSc in Construction Law and Arbitration from King’s College London.He has hands-on experience advising on claims and contractual disputes for onshore O&G facilities, as well as engineering, fabrication, transportation and installation contracts for offshore facilities.

Sivabalah, Shearn Delamore, Kuala Lumpur, MalaysiaSivabalah joined the firm as a pupil in 1983 and now heads the firm’s Employment and Administrative law practice group and specializes in Industrial Relations, Employment Law, and Adminis-trative Law matters. He was involved in a number of precedent setting cases including the establishment of a rule on the failure to hold an inquiry not rendering an otherwise fair dismissal unfair, the establishment of an obligation on Industrial Court to take into account post-dismissal employment when awarding compensation to unfairly dismissed employees.
