From the President’s Pen … Sister Mozélle E. Medcalf
Greetings
I am thankful for all of you, the Women of the Ohio Baptist General Convention and for what you together, by God’s grace, have done! I have seen your faith, active in love! I have seen your patience, your perseverance, and the examples you have set.
The Bible includes many scriptures expressing thanksgiving for groups of God’s children and for what they have done. In a similar way, I am thankful for what each of you, individually, has done! Like Phoebe of Cenchrea, you are each servants of the church. Like Priscilla, Lydia and many other women of the bible, you are each valued workers for whom many are giving thanks today. In fact, “I give thanks to God always for you”.
I could name each one of you, sharing story after story of the hard work you have done, the love you have shown. And those would be only the things I know about. But in heaven, a full record of those loving actions, those amazing deeds is being kept. The Bible tells us to be “steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”
During this Holiday Season more than ever, my thoughts turn gratefully to those who have made our progress
possible and in this spirit, I sincerely say Thank You and hope that every moment of your Christmas celebration
be blessed by the joy of Christ’s redeeming love.

The Congress of Christian Education offers a wealth of learning opportunities to help indi-viduals grow spiritually and in their work and witness in the world for Christ. The National Baptist Congress of Christian Education Annual Session is the education arm of the NBC, USA, Inc., and is responsible for teaching and training classes in every aspect of Christian Education. This meeting, attended by 30,000 delegates, is held each year in June at various locations throughout the United States. A selection of more than 300 classes equip Christian education leaders with the necessary information and teaching techniques to fulfill their respective roles in their local ministries with excel-lence. The delegates may graduate or receive a Certificate of Progress after a prescribed program of study or simply take classes for general continuing education. In addition to the national Annual Session, each state convention or local dis-trict may also be certified to sponsor classes and offer classes at other times throughout the year.
