Oh the Places Youll Go
Choose one of the following cities and develop a project:

Then, in pairs, groups of three or four**, or individually, design a project around this city as if you are from there, and trying to promote tourism to your city! OBJECTIVE: Convince people to come to your city by one of the following options:
Creating an advertisement on a poster board and present the highlights to the class
Create a TV commercial about the city that you perform in front of class Develop a brochure that convinces people to come to your city
Write a tour guide skit and take your class around your city by boat, bus, or on foot
Give a Power Point presentation on your city
Write a two to three paged paper about your city
Information to include:1. Small bit of history about the cityFor example, who founded it, when was it established, why was the location important (railways, proximity to water source, etc.)
2. Weather throughout the yearWhen would you recommend visiting and why?3. Food and DrinkWhat are special foods in this city or that this city is famous for?4. MonumentsAre there any famous structures/buildings to see?5. FestivalsWhat festivals are celebrated throughout this city that are unique?6. Sports, Music, and EntertainmentWhat can you do here for fun? Famous concerts, sports teams, etc.?7. Outdoor activitiesHow does the geography impact what people do outside? Are there lakes, mountains, etc? 8. CelebritiesDo any famous people live there? Are any famous people from there?
9. What currency do they use? Is this city generally more or less expensive than Madrid? 10. Other unique and relevant information about this city
**Please note, if you work in pairs or in groups, you are expected to do more, as you are sharing the work among more than one person. If you choose to work in groups, we expect more detail!
