Location The park is positioned on the outskirts of the quarry town

of Bethesda, just outside the Snowdonia National Park and situated within mature woodland right at the mouth of the superbly picturesque Nant Francon valley, leading

to some impressive scenery and some of the higher mountain peaks. The park runs adjacent to the River Ogwen with the excellent 'Lon Las Ogwen' footpath/cycle

route located on the far side of the river bank, allowing for easy connections between the park and the city of Bangor. Bethesda offers a good range of amenities and

services including numerous leisure facilities of a leisure centre, rugby, football, cricket and bowls clubs as well as numerous cafés and public houses. There are also

primary and secondary schools and an extensive modern health centre. The village is also home to the now infamous and hugely exciting Zip Wire attraction -

the longest in Europe situated high in the adjoining slate quarry. The university city of Bangor, roughly 5 miles distant, offers a wide range of High Street shops,
