GREEN CONSIDERATION
The EU aims to reduce the volume and impact of specific plastic products on the environment through Directive (EU) 2019/904 on the reduction of the impact of certain plastic products on the environment. This is commonly referred to as the Single Use Plastics Directive. (https://www.gov.ie/en/publication/ef24a-single-use-plastics/)This is a second generation framework that was designed to coincide with the introduction of the Single Use Plastics Directive on the 1st July, 2021 as many commonly used products will now be banned from sale. One of the main objectives of this second generation framework was to formalise the procurement of compostable or renewable alternatives to many of the single use plastic products supplied under the first generation FW. All disposable items supplied under this arrangement must be sustainable or recyclable, made of either recyclable plastic or compostable material; except where not generally recyclable - catering films for example (at the time of publishing).Goods supplied will conform to EN 13432 (Composting and Biodegradation) (where possible).

Fuel Charge Card Services
COMMENT• Value for money: Through this Framework,
public sector bodies can use a fuel charge card as a payment for unleaded petrol, diesel, lubricants and car washes at service stations. The use of a fuel charge card eliminates the need for cash carrying, thus increasing the level of security felt by fleet drivers. The elimination of cash also makes it easier to prevent fraudulent transactions from occurring. Fuel charge cards enable fleet managers to receive real time reports and set purchase controls with their cards helping them to stay informed of all business related expenses.
• Flexibility: This Framework reduces the time and cost associated with a full procurement process, which in turn allows you to be more flexible with the planning of your requirements.
• Agreed terms and conditions: Terms and conditions have been established and agreed. This removes the need to re-draft terms for each procurement you undertake.
• Efficiency: The Framework removes the need for you to conduct full procurement exercises and/or lengthy evaluation processes, saving you the considerable time and costs often associated with these.
