17 SPORTS11 DAYS1 PLACE TO BE

I’ve looked forward to this moment for many years. One of the world’s greatest sporting competitions on home soil. The Commonwealth’s best athletes – many returning to the UK after remarkable achievements at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games – battling for medal glory across 17 sports and 11 days of competition. The Commonwealth Games is a very special event, and has a special place in my heart. Winning Gold for Scotland at Manchester 2002 and Melbourne 2006 were incredibly proud, emotional moments for me. With passionate home crowds, I know that the athletes competing for Team Scotland are in for a life-changing experience. Put simply, your cheers and support could mean the difference between Silver and Gold. And with around a million tickets up for grabs, there will be something for everyone. All the people involved with Glasgow 2014 want the venues to be filled with enthusiastic fans – and I’m proud to be an ambassador for the Games. I’m particularly happy that there are special half-price tickets for under-16s and over-60s. Getting young people involved in and inspired by sport is something I’ll always be committed to. On behalf of Glasgow 2014 and its partners, we thank you for all your support so far – and look forward to receiving your ticket application and seeing you next summer. Ticket sales open from 19 August to 16 September. Let’s go!

Sir Chris Hoy Glasgow 2014 Ambassador

Where will you be, when the world comes to Scotland? When the XX Commonwealth Games come to Glasgow, Scotland’s sporting capital? I’ll be there – and I hope you’ll be there too.

An accessible Games

We’re making our venues, communications and services as accessible as possible, to make sure everyone has a great Games experience.

Our Accessible Ticketing Policy demonstrates our commitment to ensuring under-represented groups can access the Games.

Accessible tickets are priced in the lowest price category for the session.

A personal assistant ticket is included in the price of an accessible ticket.

You can tell us about your accessibility support requirements when you apply for tickets.

You can request tickets for accompanying family and friends on your application form.

Tickets for accompanying family and friends will be allocated as close to accessible seats as possible.

At a glance

Like all previous Commonwealth Games, Glasgow 2014 will run a fair and simple application process to ensure everyone has an equal chance of getting tickets.

It makes no difference whether you apply for tickets on the first day, last day, or anytime in between.

Where we’re inundated with ticket applications for particular sport sessions – like the 100m Track final – we’ll run a fair, simple draw. It’ll be completely impartial, selecting people from across all the applications received.

You apply for the tickets you want. It’s not a lucky dip – if you’ve requested tickets for Netball you won’t be given tickets for Table Tennis.

If you ask for four tickets, you will either be successful or unsuccessful in your application for four tickets. You will not be offered one, two or three tickets.

We’ll contact you by email with a summary of your tickets before any payment is taken.

You’ll get a second chance to buy any remaining tickets before they’re made available for further sale in late October.

Diving

With nerves of steel, the divers rule the roost up near the rafters. They stand perfectly still on the platform. With eyes closed, they’re visualising the dive they’re about to perform. It lasts fractions of a second but it’ll blow you away. With acrobatic skill and precision the divers twist, turn and soar over the water. Everything counts in the battle for points - the starting position, the take-off, the flight and the entry. Will they glide under the surface without raising a ripple?

Swimming

The first thing that hits you is the heat and familiar smell of the pool. Then it’s the wall of noise bouncing off the tiles. At the centre of everything is a glistening 50 metre stretch of blue, where records will be broken and medals won. The swimmers line up. They’re wearing caps, goggles and suits that fit like a second skin. Look at the shoulders. These are swimming machines.

Water droplets sparkle and fly as the swimmers cut through the water. Lungs work like bellows and limbs power them forward. The lead is won, lost and reclaimed as they surge ahead, reaching for the finish. The crowd is on its feet, cheering as one. With nail-biting finishes that’ll leave you breathless, the swimming competition is one of the hottest tickets in town.

Athletics

Thousands of people are holding their breath. On your marks and get set are history. Go is about to happen. When it does, those same people will cheer louder than they’ve ever done before. Welcome to the Athletics competition. In July 2014, Hampden Stadium will become a modern-day amphitheatre. The Commonwealth’s greatest athletes will battle it out for medals and glory. You can be part of their story.

This is one of sport’s greatest spectacles. These are the people who’re aiming to run faster, jump higher and throw further than anyone else. Underdogs rub shoulders with champions. Rivals resume old feuds. A lifetime of training comes down to one moment.

The Commonwealth Games title is the only one I don’t have. I need to get that title. – Usain Bolt

Badminton

Welcome to the fastest racquet sport on earth – where shuttlecocks fly at 300 kilometres an hour. This fast and furious game will bring out the competitive streak in the mildest of temperaments. See how the players size up their opponent. They stare through the net and anticipate the serve. Will it lightly whisper over the net or will it hurtle to the back of the court? Prepare to watch in awe as trainers screech across the floor, racquets whip through the air and the shuttlecock clips the line. This is a game of instinct and lightning-fast reactions. Without fitness, flexibility and fancy footwork, you’re done for.

Inside a six metre square ring, there’s nowhere to hide – and the boxers come prepared. Dodging and weaving, every jab seeks a target as they prowl around the ring. Strength counts, but only speed and a sixth sense can avoid those blows. The coaches in the corner shout encouragement while the referee’s eyes remain fixed on the action. Two figures in gloves and gumshields continue to circle, sweat pouring and energy draining. The clamour of the crowd surrounds them and the lights blaze overhead.

Fired up by the electric atmosphere, names will be made and reputations won. With the Commonwealth Games debut of Women’s Boxing, it’s now an equal arena. So will it be hard graft or a knockout punch that wins the crown? Either way, the crowd won’t let up until the referee raises one boxer’s arm in victory.

Track

With visors down, Lycra coating sculpted muscles and science fiction helmets buckled under chins, everything has been streamlined for speed. Welcome to the velodrome, where the human rocketships fly. Round and round and round they go, orbiting the track at warp speed. All eyes follow these cycling powerhouses as the cheers reach a crescendo. Will the hours and hours of training pay off? Is a final burst of speed left in those legs?

Road

The crowds lining the streets create a tunnel of noise. The riders flash through it, wheels spinning and eyes straight ahead. Bunched up tight, the road cyclists move in a pack, awaiting their chance to go it alone. They’ll be taking the tourist route through Glasgow, but forgive them if they don’t pause to admire the architecture. When you’re travelling at these speeds, all you can see is the finish line.

Mountain Bike

Watch them hurtle through grit, gravel and mud and pity whoever’s doing the laundry. The Mountain Bike riders plunge downhill, power back up and navigate rocky terrain, shrugging off the wind, rain and whatever else Mother Nature throws at them. They need endurance, technical prowess and spirit if they’re to champion the course. Flat tyres and falls threaten, but you can bet they’ll be taking no prisoners.

metres between the Artistic high bar and the floor.2.8 Artistic

They defy gravity. We look on in awe. Bars, vault or pommel horse, it doesn’t matter what piece of equipment the gymnasts turn to – you know they’ll push their boundaries to conquer it. Female athletes pirouette and somersault along the beam without batting an eyelid. Male athletes swing and hold on rings with astounding muscle strength. Both hurtle towards the vault without a trace of fear, ready to spring skywards and amaze us. Floorwork means controlled balance, revolutions in the air and accomplishing that perfect landing. All the while we hold our breath and wonder how they do it. Gymnastics is the ultimate in control, balance and perfect execution. This is strength wrapped up in grace. The gymnasts are like diamonds in the dark of the arena – sparkling and strong.

Rhythmic

Grace, skill and awe-inspiring flexibility: Rhythmic Gymnastics calls for all three. Flawless control is essential as the gymnast rotates the hoop, rolls the ball, catches the clubs or snakes the ribbon. Always in motion, these specialist gymnasts own the floor. This is gymnastics with added style. It’s not enough to show affinity with the apparatus; these athletes have to make their shapes flow as smoothly as silk. Musical multi-taskers, they balance, leap and pivot towards their medal.

To be able to compete for Team Scotland at Glasgow 2014 would be phenomenal. Hearing the home crowd cheering me on would make all the hard work and training worth it. – Dan Keatings

Twenty-two players, 22 sticks, two umpires and one ball: put them together and you get 70 minutes of full-throttle sporting action. Guaranteed. Fast, fierce and athletic, Hockey isn’t for the faint-hearted. Glasgow Green will be a battlefield where teams show off their tactics and their toughness. There’s a reason Hockey players wear shin pads and mouth guards. For these athletes it’s about using the hockey stick to devastating effect: passing, shooting, scoring and stopping opponents from getting the ball. There’s no time to pause when the substitutes come on – in Hockey the action is non-stop. The players do everything they can to avoid the dreaded shoot-out competition, where one strike can seal a team’s fate. The Commonwealth boasts some of the world’s best Hockey teams. With everything to play for over 11 days of competition, there’ll be scuffles, skirmishes and direct hits as teams fight for their place on the podium.

Lawn Bowls The magnificent Victorian architecture

of Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum and the greenery of Kelvingrove Park provide a picture perfect backdrop. But don’t be misled by the serenity of the setting – the Lawn Bowls athletes are fired up and out to win. With up to 30 rinks in play at any one time, Lawn Bowls calls for accuracy, nerve and strategy. The athletes wear a poker face as they survey the lie of the land. Judgement is everything. The bowlers show incredible precision as they aim for the jack. The stakes rise and you could cut the tension with a knife. Netball

She shoots, she scores. She doesn’t slam-dunk. Netball is a global sport with massive appeal – in New Zealand it’s drawn bigger TV audiences than the All Blacks. So what’s the attraction?

Netball is boisterous. Netball has pace. Netball is about making split-second decisions and dealing with the consequences. When a player gets the ball, they have three seconds to decide what to do with it. Watch as they pivot, looking for the perfect pass. Shoes squeak as the action tears up and down the court. As the clock ticks onward, the sprints, interceptions and shots on goal get ever-faster. The volume rises and the pressure racks up. The final whistle gets closer and one thing’s for certain: the Netball players will make every move and every minute count.

Rugby Sevens

Born and bred in Scotland, Rugby Sevens is coming home. This is rugby at lightning speed. Forget about the luxury of having 80 minutes to win a match. In Rugby Sevens, you get two teams of seven men with just 14 minutes to show what they’re made of. Take a deep breath, because when the whistle blows, the action is going to come thick and fast. Rugby Sevens takes strength, but the reduced numbers mean that pace and fast reactions are just as important. With the best teams in the world as contenders, you know the action is going to be top-flight. The crowds create a party atmosphere while the athletes take care of business. You’ll marvel at their stamina as the passes, kicks and tries come in quick succession. Expect hard hits, lung-bursting sprints and points scored by the shovel-load.

ShootingThe crack of the shot rings out. Has it hit the target? The Shooting competition will take the Games out of the city to the dramatic east coast setting of Barry Buddon, near Carnoustie. Here the fresh water of the River Tay meets the sea, surrounded by windswept dunes. The striking location sets the tone for what promises to be a gripping competition.

Each shooting discipline has its own appeal and challenge. Clay Target athletes need spectacular aim to hit moving targets – a shattered clay showing a direct hit. Full Bore requires adaptability as well as precision for targets across a range of distances up to 1,000 yards. For Pistol and Small Bore, concentration and control are all-important to score those vital points. Shooting is for experts. It’s not just one lucky shot. Consistency is everything in order to succeed. Competitors must perform under pressure. When the tension’s building, can they deliver the goods? Table Tennis

The average table lives a predictable life. People serve dinner on it, read the papers at it and occasionally leave coffee cup stains on it. A Table Tennis table is a different breed. It exists under the spotlight, bare except for lines and a net, tough enough to withstand the onslaught of the players who’re battling across it.

competition tables including 2 main show courts.10

sessions across 10 days of competition.19

Don’t call it ping pong, flim flam or wiff waff. Table Tennis might have originated as after-dinner entertainment but nowadays it is fast and furious. The players dance around the edges, agile, crouching and ready to spring. Watch as they whip the racket back and forth. One moment it’s a gentle breeze, the next it’s a hurricane. Every stroke is perfectly judged and the players’ focus is absolute. If a Table Tennis match were a comic strip, you’d see a lot of ka-pows booming across the table. So pull up a seat and prepare yourself for a white-knuckle ride.

Triathlon It’s got three acts, costume changes and plenty of drama, but this isn’t theatre. Triathlon uses the great outdoors as its stage; its players are the athletes, conquering the landscape as they swim, cycle and run towards the final curtain. Don’t call triathletes good all-rounders. It doesn’t do them justice. These are athletes whose endurance and versatility places them firmly in the sporting elite.

It starts with open water swimming. The competitors don’t have the luxury of a lane each here – they need to find their own breathing space as they jostle through choppy waters. Out of the water and it’s off with the wetsuits and onto the bikes for a gruelling cycle leg. These transitions are everything – seconds lost while putting on your shoes can have a devastating impact later in the race. Harshest of all is the last leg – the final run when reserves are at their lowest. Expect 100% commitment. Triathlon is all about showing true grit.

Weightlifting & Para-Sport Powerlifting Everything about these athletes

radiates strength. Powerhouse legs, a steel core and arms like suspension cables. When the barbell is lifted you’ll see blood vessels bulge and cheeks puff out, swiftly followed by a roar of victory when things go to plan. With eight bodyweight categories for men and seven for women, the weightlifters show their mettle on the snatch and the clean and jerk. And don’t miss the Para-Sport Powerlifting, with four Golds up for grabs. The competition takes place in the belly of the Armadillo, where the athletes will follow in the footsteps of rock stars. Expect an atmosphere as lively as any concert as the crowd gets swept up in the contest to prove who’s the strongest of them all.

To win, just lift more than anyone else. Sounds straightforward? Not when you see the size of those weights. The Weightlifting competitors are the strongmen and women of the Games. They show off muscles most of us didn’t even know existed.

Throw away the script. This isn’t late night TV theatrics. This is the real deal – freestylers fusing raw power into a truly dramatic display of technical prowess. Grapples, holds, throws and pins. You’ll see all of these played out on the mat when the Wrestling competition gets under way. These athletes don’t hold back – they just want to lock horns and get stuck in. One minute they’re on their feet, the next they’re flying through the air. Locked in a vice-like grip or spread-eagled on the mat, scoring points is the end game.

The Glasgow 2014Ceremonies

On 23 July 2014, we’ll welcome thousands of spectators and athletes and hundreds of millions of viewers to Glasgow for the XX Commonwealth Games. It will be a day – and an Opening Ceremony – to remember. The largest, most prestigious live show Glasgow and Scotland have ever seen. With the world holding its breath, we’ll reintroduce ourselves to the Commonwealth family and show everyone what we’re made of. Most importantly, we’ll celebrate what we all have in common – the true spirit of unity in diversity.

There will be spectacular moments. Audacious, visual, musical, theatrical moments. There will be uplifting and surprising ones too: the Parade of Nations, the Competitors’ Oath, the epic finale to the Queen’s Baton Relay. And then, at long last, the Games will begin. Eleven days later, on 3 August, we’ll get together again for a Closing Ceremony to celebrate all we’ve achieved and hand over to the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. As we say our goodbyes, we’ll show the world that Glasgow knows a thing or two about throwing a great party.

Festival 2014 Queen’s Baton Relay

It’s not just about sport. Culture 2014 is a national celebration of the countdown to the Games. With a series of special events leading up to and marking the journey of the Queen’s Baton Relay through Scotland, it culminates at Games Time with Glasgow’s exciting Festival 2014. Glasgow is a vibrant city, world renowned for culture. Its international community of artists, musicians, writers and performers will bring the city’s streets and stages alive. Its galleries, parks and concert halls will create an incredible backdrop for Games Time celebrations. Showcasing the very best of arts and entertainment from Glasgow, Scotland and the Commonwealth, Festival 2014 is an unmissable part of your Games experience. It’s the biggest party that Glasgow’s ever thrown – and everyone’s invited!

Find out more: glasgow2014.com/culture

The Opening Ceremony is the official starting point of the Commonwealth Games, but the invitation to the athletes and people of the Commonwealth goes out 288 days earlier.

The Queen’s Baton Relay is a much-loved tradition of the Commonwealth Games – and it’s a journey like no other. On 9 October 2013, at Buckingham Palace, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will place Her message to the Commonwealth inside the baton. Then from Glasgow it will depart for India, Host Nation of the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games. Over 288 days the baton will travel more than a hundred thousand miles, visiting all 71 nations and territories of the Commonwealth. It will be carried by thousands of batonbearers on its epic journey, all chosen or nominated by their own country to participate. On its final leg, the baton will travel the length and breadth of Scotland on the way to its ultimate destination – the Opening Ceremony.

Its journey across continents, terrains and time-zones carries and delivers a powerful message at home and abroad – a message read aloud by The Queen at the ceremony to declare the Games open.

Applying for Tickets

FAQs

How does the programme work?

The XX Commonwealth Games Sport programme takes place over 11 days. Each day is broken down into smaller ‘sessions’. During some sessions, medal winners will be decided and/or the medals awarded at a Medal Ceremony. Your ticket entitles you to watch every competition taking place within your chosen session.

Can I choose seats?

Your application is for tickets in a particular price category rather than for specific seats, as seating plans will not be finalised until 2014. Most sessions have tickets available in more than one price category.

What does the difference in the price categories mean?

A ticket in price category 1 will provide a better view of the field of play than a ticket in price category 3 in the same session and venue. All price categories offer a great Games experience.

Can I get a concession price?

Concessionary prices are available for those under 16 or over 60 on 23 July 2014. Children under two years of age will be considered as ‘babes in arms’ and will not require a ticket.

Are wheelchair tickets available?

Wheelchair and Easy Access tickets are available at all sessions and are priced per the lowest price category for each session. Any person with a disability or impairment requiring a personal assistant may request a Personal Assistant seat, at no extra charge, when applying for tickets.

Are there any limits on how many tickets I can buy?

There are ticket limits for each session. These limits are indicated on the detailed Competition Schedule (pages 62-71) and should not be exceeded in your application. Personal Assistant tickets do not count towards the total number of tickets applied for.

Will you take payment when I apply for tickets?

You will only be charged the actual value of your application once the application process is complete. If your application is successful, payment will be taken between 30 September and 7 October.

How do I pay by cheque or postal order?

You must send payment for the maximum total value of your application. If you are not allocated all the tickets you apply for, any difference will be refunded. Cheques and postal orders must be in Pounds Sterling (GBP) and payable from the person whose name is on the accompanying ticket application. Cheques and postal orders must be made payable to Glasgow 2014.

How can I apply for tickets if I am a member of UK Armed Forces with a BFPO address?

Personnel with a British Forces Post Office (BFPO) address should complete the required fields in the address section on the application form as: Address: your Service Number, Rank and Name Town/City: your Unit Regiment, your Operation Name and your BFPO Number Postcode: your postcode Country: BFPO

What happens when there are more applications than tickets?

For sessions where the demand for tickets exceeds availability, Glasgow 2014 will use a fair and simple computerised draw to ensure a completely impartial allocation of tickets for those sessions.

— You can only submit one application per ‘household’. Applications cannot be amended after 18.00 on 16 September 2013.

— You can apply via the Application Form accompanying this Guide, or online at: glasgow2014.com/tickets

— Complete each section of the application form to indicate the price, number and type of tickets you would like. You will also need to confirm your delivery details.

— If you have a disability or impairment and require a personal assistant, you may select a personal assistant seat at no extra charge when applying for tickets. Accompanying friends and family will be seated as close to wheelchair accessible seat spaces as possible.

— Include your email address if you have one. Email will be our primary method of communication regarding ticket information and the Games.

— To increase your chances of obtaining tickets, tick ‘Increase Your Chances’ to indicate that you will accept a lower price ticket if your preferred price category is not available. If you have only requested tickets in the lowest price category, this will not apply to you.

— You can pay by debit and credit card, pre-paid credit card, cheque or postal order. Regardless of your payment method, please ensure you have sufficient funds available between 30 September and 7 October 2013.

— Please ensure that your payment card expiry date is no earlier than October 2013. If your payment is declined or rejected, your application may be withdrawn.

— All applicants will be notified about the status of their application between 30 September and 7 October 2013.

— By 7 October 2013, payment will have been taken from all successful applicants.

— Details about any remaining tickets will be released in October 2013.

— If you need help, contact the Glasgow 2014 Ticketing Customer Service team at [email protected] or on 0844 826 2014.

— If you need to use a textphone you can contact Glasgow 2014 Ticketing on 0844 847 2014 (TypeTalk) or 0844 875 2014 (MiniCom). All calls cost 5p per minute from a BT landline; mobiles or other networks may vary.

11. Forgotten, lost, stolen, defaced, damaged or destroyed tickets In the interests of fraud prevention, no tickets will be replaced or ticket prices refunded if a ticket is forgotten, lost by you, stolen, defaced, damaged or destroyed.

12. Transfer of tickets 12.1 You are not entitled to resell, trade or otherwise transfer any ticket, except as expressly authorised in writing by Glasgow 2014 or as otherwise permitted under law. For more information upon these rights please contact a lawyer experienced in agreements of this nature, or your local Citizens’ Advice Bureau (or equivalent). 12.2 On request you shall provide to Glasgow 2014 details of any person to whom you have transferred tickets, and the circumstances in which they were transferred.

12.3 Please note that if you have obtained a ticket from someone who was not entitled to transfer that ticket to you, or otherwise by unlawful means, we may choose not to honour that ticket, and you may not be able to enter the session, or be requested to leave the session to which that ticket relates. In such an event we will not refund any amount in relation to that ticket. At all times we shall have the right to reclaim that ticket from the current ticket holder and/or to cancel that ticket.

13. Travelling to the Games Ticket holders may use available travel services in certain areas, on the date set out on their ticket, to travel to sessions without additional charge. Further information concerning travel arrangements will be made available at glasgow2014.com. Please note that we make no guarantees regarding the availability or times of operation of these services and it is your sole responsibility to ensure you travel in good time to arrive by the start of a session. You should note that various security procedures will apply on entry to Games venues. Completing these procedures will take a degree of time. Please also note that travel services can be disrupted and/or may not be available due to traffic, weather or other unexpected happenings.

14. Attending the Games 14.1 By providing you with a ticket we are granting a right to attend the session detailed on that ticket, subject always to these terms. The physical ticket shall remain the property of Glasgow 2014 at all times. 14.2 For the avoidance of doubt, if you choose not to use a ticket for a session, and/or to access a transport service which you are entitled to use as a result of your holding of a ticket, no refund or exchange (in whole or in part) for that ticket will be given. 14.3 In all events, we and/or Games venue owners and operators reserve the right to refuse entry to any person to any Games venue, and to remove any person from a Games venue, where in our reasonable opinion we believe that person may cause a risk to the safety or security of the session or the enjoyment of the session by others.

15. Venue regulations 15.1 Each Games venue is subject to venue regulations, which apply to all persons attending the Games venue. You undertake as part of these terms to abide by the venue regulations at all times. The venue regulations are available at tickets.glasgow2014.com. Please check the venue regulations prior to making your journey to a session, to ascertain the detailed restrictions relating to the Games venue. You acknowledge that the venue regulations may change over time, and that the venue regulations which apply to a particular Games venue you are attending, shall be those which are in force at the time at which you attend that Games venue. 15.2 You acknowledge that if you arrive at a Games venue with an item you are prohibited from bringing into a Games venue, you will not be entitled to enter the Games venue with that item. A list of prohibited and restricted items is set out in the venue regulations.

16. Prohibited activities 16.1 No commercial, promotional, advertising or marketing (including charitable) activity may be undertaken at any Games venue or in the vicinity of any Games venue. If you conduct any such activities, we may prevent you from entering the Games venue, require you to obscure any article used in connection with such activities or require you to leave the Games venue. In such an event you will not receive a refund of the sum paid for your ticket. 16.2 Removal of, causing damage to, defacing, interfering or tampering with a Games venue or any item found there is prohibited. If you cause any damage to or deface any Games venue, or remove, cause damage to, deface, interfere or tamper with any item from a Games venue, you shall be liable to us and to the Games venue owner and operator and/or the item owner. 16.3 Entry onto the field of play or into any restricted area, causing an obstruction, littering, acting in a way intended or likely to cause injury, annoyance, distress or anxiety to others, and/or acting in a way intended or likely to interfere with the proper operation of the Games is also strictly prohibited at Games venues. 16.4 Once you have entered a Games venue, you are prohibited from leaving and re-entering that Games venue.

17. Other terms relating to Games venues 17.1 You must comply with all directions given by our personnel and stewards, representatives of the Games venue owners and operators, and the police when at Games venues. 17.2 Tickets provide a right to attend sessions at the Games. You must occupy the seat or area specified on your ticket. You acknowledge that we may, however, relocate you to another seat or area, should we deem this necessary to enable the proper management of sessions.

18. Recording and photography 18.1 Images, videos and audio recordings taken or made by you in Games venues with a camera, phone camera, video camera or audio equipment (or any other kind of equipment) may not be used for any purpose other than for personal and non-commercial purposes. You may not sell, license, broadcast (including on social media sites), publish, or commercially exploit in any manner such images, videos or audio recordings, unless expressly authorised by us. 18.2 We shall have a right to copy, make available and use any images, videos or audio recordings you create as we see fit, without having to make any payment to you or acknowledge that you created that material. 19. Your consent By attending a session you consent to the broadcast, photographing and recording of you, your image, likeness and voice, by us and persons authorised by us (and all subsequent broadcast and other transmission or distribution of such recording) by whatever means either currently known or subsequently developed. You acknowledge that you shall have no right in or to such broadcast, photograph or recording, or any right to be remunerated for such broadcast, photograph or recording (or use of such broadcast, photograph or recording), nor any right to object to, or to be identified in relation to, such broadcast, photograph or recording or use of such broadcast, photograph or recording, howsoever made.

20. Delay, interruption, rescheduling, postponement and cancellation 20.1 Tickets allow entry to sessions. You acknowledge that sessions may be delayed, interrupted, rescheduled, postponed or cancelled both for reasons beyond our control, or to allow for the proper management of the Games. We do not guarantee that any session will commence at its stated time, however we will endeavour to ensure that this is the case. If a session is delayed, interrupted, rescheduled, postponed or cancelled we will not be liable to you for any changes you may have to make to any travel, accommodation or other arrangements. 20.2 If a session is delayed, postponed, cancelled or rescheduled so that it does not take place on the same date set out on a ticket or at the same venue set out on a ticket, we will either refund the face value of that ticket, or (subject to availability) you may exchange that ticket for a ticket for another session, where the ticket price for that session is equal or less than the face value of the ticket to be exchanged. Otherwise no refunds or exchanges will be given as a result of delay, postponement or rescheduling. 20.3 If a session commences on the date and at the venue set out in the ticket and is thereafter interrupted, and it is determined by Glasgow 2014 that it was substantially completed, you will not be eligible for a refund or an exchange of the ticket for another session. 20.4 If a session is cancelled or rescheduled to another date or venue, we will endeavour to notify ticket purchasers using the email address set out in their ticket application. We will also endeavour to make information concerning such cancellation or rescheduling available at tickets.glasgow2014.com. Please note that due to circumstances beyond our control and/or the limitations of our systems, such notification and information may not be provided prior to the anticipated start time of the session. Please check your email and the above website prior to making your journey to a session.

21. Your rights Nothing in these terms affects your rights under law. For more information upon these rights please contact a lawyer experienced in agreements of this nature, or your local Citizens’ Advice Bureau (or equivalent).

They may use this information to take action against you in relation to your breach. 22.3 If you cause us to incur loss, damage, costs or expense due to your breach of these terms or otherwise (for example due to a failure to exercise proper care), then you shall be liable to us for this. 22.4 If you cause any other person to incur loss, damage, costs or expense due to your breach of these terms or otherwise (for example due to a failure to exercise proper care), then you shall be liable to that other person for this. 22.5 We shall not be liable for any loss, damage, costs or expense which is not caused by us. This includes any injury arising from any item leaving the field of play and colliding with you. 22.6 Our service providers (for example the operators of Games venues) shall not be liable for any loss, damage, costs or expense which is not caused by them. 22.7 You shall be solely responsible for ensuring the safety and security of any items you bring to a Games venue. We shall not be liable to you if any such item is lost or stolen. 22.8 If we breach these terms and as a result you cannot attend a session for which you are a ticket holder, our liability to you is limited to refunding the face value of the ticket purchased for that event.

23. General 23.1 If we delay or fail to enforce any rights it shall not mean that we have waived our right to do so at any subsequent time. 23.2 If any part of these terms is deemed by a court to be unenforceable, the remainder of the terms shall not be affected. 23.3 These terms shall be construed in accordance with Scottish law and the courts of Scotland shall have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any matter concerning these terms.
