Declared Runners: 2Betting Forecast: 1/2 Steely; Evs Beyond MeasureGronez Gamble: The prevailing hot dry weather means quick firm conditions oncourse, with the knock-on effect being slightly smaller fields than usual for this -the first of Jersey's two back-to-back evening meetings. This evening's hurdle raceis a match and it is likely STEELY will once again attempt to make all the runningas he did successfully here at the last meeting. His rival Beyond Measure makesher Channel Islands debut and may not have the pace to go with the selection.

Declared Runners: 6Betting Forecast: Evs Hard To Handel; 5/2 Hawaiian Freeze; 7/2 Benoordenout;5/1 Princess Kodia; 12/1 Ocean Crystal; 20/1 Mendacious HarpyGronez Gamble: HARD TO HANDEL has run three very solid races here alreadythis season, including when runner-up on his last two starts over a slightly shortertrip, and deserves to open his Channel Islands account in the feature race of theevening. Arguably both the selection's main dangers, Hawaiian Freeze andBenoordenhout, are better over further than this evening's race distance.

Declared Runners: 6Betting Forecast: 5/4 Sir Jamie; 2/1 Captain James; 7/2 Grey Panel;6/1 First Cat; 10/1 Brown Velvet; 20/1 TorettoGronez Gamble: Both Captain James and Grey Panel travelled well through theirraces to win here at the last meeting, and therefore should be major players again, but UK-trained raider SIR JAMIE is still relatively unexposed and open to furtherimprovement. Given the aforementioned excellent strike-rate of trainer Tony Carrollhere in Jersey in can be presumed a big run is expected.

Declared Runners: 6Betting Forecast: 5/4 Spring Dixie; 5/2 Mr Opulence; 4/1 Grey Gem;5/1 Flutterbee; 8/1 Gabster; 20/1 Blue Sea Of IbroxGronez Gamble: On an evening when likely favourites look hard to beat in severalraces perhaps MR OPULENCE might represent a bit of value in the "night cap". Theseven-times course winner (including this race last year by a length) can perhapsbe forgiven a lacklustre effort last time out when he lost a front shoe and alsoreportedly didn't react in a positive way to the reapplication of a hood. His trainerTony Le Brocq had his first winner of the season at the last meeting. Spring Dixiefinally broke her maiden at the last meeting and should confirm her form with thediminutive mare Flutterbee.
