GATHERING

**Gathering Song#339 Be Thou My Vision

Holy God, you love justice and hate oppression; you call us to righteousness and not to exploitation. Give us generous and loving hearts and eyes to see the splendor of your reign that we may live in truth and honor, and praise you for the transformation of our lives, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

**Call to Worship

One: Give thanks to the Lord, for God is good.

All: God’s steadfast love endures forever.

One: The Lord has delivered us from slavery;

All: there is no other god but the Lord.

**Opening Hymn#280 Amazing Grace

WORDS OF WELCOME

CONFESSION AND PRAYER (in unison) Eternal God, we confess that we have failed to seek your will. You create us in your image, yet we dishonor your holy name. You call us to live as one body, yet we seek out separate ways. Forgive us, God of grace. By the work of your Spirit within us make us holy and whole, so that we might live for your glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY SILENTLY.

Assurance of Forgiveness

One: This is the promise of the Lord—that by the power of the Holy Spirit God will transform our lives and remember our sins no more.

All: In the name of Jesus Christ we are forgiven! Thanks be to God.

Pastoral Prayer

Sung Response Hear Our Prayer Hear our prayer, O Lord, hear our prayer, O Lord;
