Theft of AC Motors from container solved

Booty worth Rupees 11 lacks has been recovered

The South East Distt. Police has busted a gang of criminals who used to target transporters by planting a driver who would divert the consignment and sell the stolen goods to a scrap dealer or receiver of stolen property and abscond. The master mind of the crime Hare Ram @ Ajay was so clever that he planned it in a manner that he first obtained the employment with the transporter on fake name and address and to baffle the police. He surrendered before UP police in a case of hurt registered against him U/S 326 IPC . After surrendering he felt that he was safe in the jail when the hot pursuit was on for him.

Brief facts:-

The mater came to light initially when Dinesh Prajapati, Manager of M/S PICL India Pvt. Ltd. Sec. 6, Faridabad (HR), reported to police that they had picked up a consignment of electric motors, meant for fitting in air conditioners, from Faridabad, (HR). The consignment was meant for export to Dubai and it was specially designed on order from the foreign exporter. The material was dispatched on 31/01/11 but it did not reach ICD till 3/02/11. Later on, the half empty container was found abondened near I.C.D. in the area of P.S. OIA. Half of the consignment ,worth more than rupees 11 lacks , were found stolen from it. The driver and the cleaner both were untraceable. The transporter feared the worst that they both might have been killed. The thieves wanted the police and transporter to belive the same and in the mean time they wanted to get away with the stolen material as there was no trace of them except their fake ID.

Background:-

However from the initial inquires it was reveled that driver Ajay was working for the past 2-3 months with the G.S. Cargo. The antecedents of Ajay were not got verified by the employer and the address as well as copy of license given by him was found fake . A case vide FIR No 35/11 u/s 408 IPC was registered at PS Okhla Ind Area. The police team under the supervision of ACP/Kalkaji Sh. Surender Kapoor and under guidance of SHO/OIA Pradeep Kumar headed by SI Mukesh kumar, ASI Suresh Kumar, Ct. Harender, Ct. Sushil Kumar, and Ct. Indraj Ct. Ravinder and Ct. Brij Mohan started working on the case to nab the criminal and recovery of stolen property.

Investigation:-

The police team started examining several drivers at I.C.D and made concerted efforts to established the whereabouts and identity of Ajay, the driver on the basis of Id proof made available to the Police. In the course of enquiries it was gathered that one Hare Ram S/o Nanku ram R/o Vill-Barich , P.S.-Bhimpura , Distt.Baliya (UP) matched with the description of Ajay. Hare Ram was known as “Moochad” because of his big mustaches, he too was not seen since long. The address and detail of Hare Ram was collected and police team went to Balia UP headed by ASI Suresh Chand and others. They traced the wife and children of the suspect Hare Ram but he was not found present at his residence. The police team camped their but the suspect sensing some movement near his house decided to take shelter in the jail. He did not even visit his ailing wife nor met with his children but in an old case surrendered to the UP police in a case of hurt which was registered against him and was wanted since 2008 in Balia UP. However, the police team got the clue about Hare Ram @ Ajay being in Jail.

Modus Operandi:-

The police with the permission of Court brought Hare Ram to Delhi on production warrant, police remand of the accused Hare Ram was obtained. He broke down On sustained interrogation he broke down and confessed the crime along with his associates Sunny, the cleaner and one jitender the scrap dealer of Gurgaon .Under

the plan Hare Ram got employment with transporter G. S. Cargo Road Lines. He gave his name as Ajay. Here he employed Sunny as his helper as the transport give this liberty of employing the cleaners with the drivers. Sunny was in touch with Jitender @ Jitu of Gurgaon. All three were in desperate need for money. Jitender had suffered business losses, Hare ram was in jail earlier also in a case in Distt. Panipat and that period his family have to borrow money. He had to repay heavy debts. They decided that Hare Ram @ Ajay and Sunny will wait till they lay hands on a costly consignment. This chance came to them on 31/01/11 when they were handed over this consignment of custom built AC parts / motors, which were to be delivered in Dubai UAE on special orders. They immediately took the conginment to Palam Vihar Gurgaon at Jitender @ Jitu's place.From here the trio contacted Naim and khalil who were in touch with Jitender @ Jitu. Both agreed to buy the consignment at half the rate i.e. Rs. Six Lacs and they in turn contacted one Faim of Ahamdabad for the consignment Faim was contacted through one person. The final buyer was Faim who deceitfully asked his neighbor to arrange some transporter to bring the consignment from Delhi to Ahamdabad. When the consignment reached their, Faim came to know of the pressure on Hare Ram and he developed cold feet in disposal of the booty.

Recovery:-

After the arrest of Hare Ram the investigation speeded up and the police cracked down on all of them including Jitender @ Jitu, Khalil, Naim from Delhi and Faim from Ahamdabad. All were arrested and recovered 1186 motors. The recovery from Delhi and Ahmadabad was made within 72 hours of the first arrest of Hare Ram @ Ajay. Thus almost the entire booty has been recovered.

Profile of Accused:-

The profile of the accused persons is that the accused Hare Ram is already involved in a similar case previously in Gohana (HR). Jitender @ Jitu suffered losses of 7-8 lacks in transport business and was in desprate need of money. He is presently suppling water from door to door. Naim is a kabbari( scrap dealer) and was involved in previous cases. Md Khalil is also a Kabbari and was in contact with Naim. Faim is a relative of Naim and lives in Ahamdabad, Gujarat and has a AC repair work shop. He

became greedy when he came to know of the high quality motors available at low price. Criminal record of each one of them is being collected.

Remaining two accused are at large. They will be arrested soon. Further investigations are on.

An Auto Lifter Gang busted One Motorcycle Recovered

INCIDENT  The staff of P.S. H.N.Din. have busted an auto lifter gang. Three persons of an auto-lifter gang have been arrested and a motorcycle has been recovered from them. During  anti snatching picket checking three person namely Shakir S/O Ali Mohd. R/O Laherwadi PS Punhana Distt. Mewat Haryana Age 21 years, Sajid@ Sada S/O Fazrat R/O  Laherwadi PS Punhana Distt. Mewat Haryana age 18 years and Javed S/O Ash Mohd. R/O Ward No. 9 Near Girls School P.S. Punhana Distt. Mewat, Haryana riding on M/Cycle no. DL4S NC 3191 were asked by the staff of P.S H.N.Din to stop for checking and produce relevant documents of the vehicle. On being checked they could not produce any papers. They were further questioned and it was found that the motorcycle being driven by them was a stolen one.

INVESTIGATIONThe three persons were interrogated at length and it was revealed that Shakir, Sajid and Javed are a gang of Mewati auto lifters and they steal motorcycles from Delhi and provide these to the receivers in Rajasthan. They have been previously involved in thefts from Faridabad area and also from Dwarka.

RECOVERYOne motorcycle stolen from the area of PS HNdin vide FIR No. 171/10 was recovered from the possession of the three persons. They have been arrested previously in PS.

Dwarka North and Faridabad in 2010. They have disclosed that they have commited more than 15 auto theft in the area of West district specially in Dwarka and Uttam Nagar . Further investigation is on to recover more vehicles and ascertain the antecedants of the arrested persons.

Snatcher arrested The staff of Police Station Hari Nagar, West District has done a good work by arresting one person namely Sukhwinder singh @ Monu s/o Amrik Singh r/o B-52D Tilak Vihar, Tilak Nagar.

INCIDENT, TEAM AND ARRESTIn view of the snatching incidents, specific instructions were issued to the staff of PS Hari Nagar to build the information related to the snatchers operating in the area. Secret information was received that a snatcher, who has committed many snatchings in the area, would be coming nearby Jheel wala park hari nagar to commit snatching. A team constituting HC Ajay Singh 2258/W and Ct Sandeep 1388/W laid trap near the Jheel wala park and waited. Then one sikh boy aged around 21-22 years came there. On seeing the Police personnel he tried to flee but was chased and stopped. On checking he was found carrying a buttondar knife in his pocket. A case Fir No. 220/11 u/s 25/54/59 Arms Act PS Hari Nagar was registered and he was arrested. INTERROGATION:-

Sukhwinder @ monu confessed that he had come there to commit chain snatching. On sustained interrogation he disclosed about his involvement in previous cases of snatching in area of PS Tilak Nagar and PS Hari Nagar. Further investigation is in progress.

GANG OF CHEATERS BUSTED, THREE PERSONS ARRESTED AND RUPEES 2.5 LACS RECOVERED

Harish Chand Verma r/o 29/840, Tansen Nagar, Gwalior, (MP) North District

Police has cracked down a gang of cheaters, who used to withdraw amounts

from banks by procuring and forging the cheques and recovered Rs. 2.5 Lacs

from their possession.

INCIDENT AND TEAM

On 19.05.2011 Shri Hazari Singh s/o Late Sh. Bheem Singh r/o B-

81, E-Block, Maksudabad Extn. Colony, Nazafgarh, Delhi reported at PS

Maurice Nagar that some person had withdrawn Rs. 2.9 lacs from his savings

account of State Bank of India, Delhi University branch through forged

cheque. He further stated that he had not even got issued the said cheque

from the bank and someone had got the cheque book of his account

fraudulently issued by impersonating him and he may further try to withdraw

the amount from the bank. Hence a dedicated team headed by Insp. Alka

Azad, SHO/Maurice Nagar, consisting of SI Amit Kumar, ASI Prakash Chand,

HC Suresh Kumar, Ct. Vijay Pal and under the overall supervision of Sh. M.S.

Malik ACP/Civil Lines was formed.

The matter was discussed with the bank officials and a trap was

laid at State Bank of India, Delhi University branch. At about 02.15 PM one

person namely Naseeb Singh @ Kaptan s/o Mahadev Singh r/o Vill. Pandu

Pandara, Distt. Jind, Haryana came at cash counter of the bank and

presented a cheque of Rs. 5 lacs of the account of the complainant. As per

the briefing, bank officials signaled the police party and Naseeb Singh was

apprehended. On formal interrogation he disclosed that the forged cheque

was given by one Kundan Bharti, who is waiting for him outside the bank on

motor cycle. Without wasting any time, the team apprehended the

mastermind, whose identity was disclosed as Kundan Bhati s/o Om Prakash

r/o F-31, 3rd floor, Gali No. 4, Om Vihar, Uttam Nagar, Delhi with his motor

cycle. On formal search of Kundan Bharti, cheque book of the account of the

complainant was recovered from his possession. Accordingly a case vide FIR

No. 48/11 u/s 420/468/471/34 IPC was registered at PS Maurice Nagar and

investigation taken up.

INTERROGATION

From interrogation it has been revealed that the Kundan Bharti is

the mastermind of the gang. Previously he was arrested in similar type of case

vide FIR No. 601/07 u/s 417/468/420 IPC PS Kalyan Puri. After release from

the jail he joined Reliance Insurance Company as a field executive and left the

job about 4 months ago. For making quick money he formed his own gang

with the help of Naseeb Singh and Ravi Verma. He allured them with

commission against each fraudulent withdrawal. During his service in the said

insurance company he collected copies of some cheques, which were

submitted by the customer for insurance purpose. He selected some

photocopy of cheques, on which signatures of the customer are simple and

potentially and having large amount in the account. During this course,

account of the complainant was identified by him. Further he submitted an

application by forging the signature of the complainant in the name of Hazari

Singh to SBI, DU branch for issuing the new cheque book and also succeeded

to obtain the cheque book. After that he sent his associate Ravi Verma by

giving assurance of his share, for withdrawing Rs. 2.9 lacs from the bank. Ravi

Verma succeeded to withdraw the said amount from the bank. Rs. 58,000/-

was given to Ravi Verma as his share. Accordingly Ravi Verma s/o Harish

Chand Verma r/o 29/840, Tansen Nagar, Gwalior, (MP) was apprehended and

Rs. 40,000/- was recovered from his possession. Rupees 2.12 lacs was

recovered from the house of the Kundan Bharti.

i. Kundan Bharti aged 26 yrs s/o Om Prakash r/o F-31, 3rd floor, Gali No.

4, Om Vihar, Uttam Nagar, Delhi has studied up to 12 th and he worked

as a field executive in Reliance Insurance Company, Pitam Pura and left

the job 4 months ago. Presently he is unemployed and is residing with

his wife and father in the rented premises.

ii. Naseeb Singh aged 23 yrs s/o Mahadev Singh r/o Vill. Pandu Pandara,

Distt. Jind, Haryana has studied up to Xth.

iii. Ravi Verma aged 26 yrs s/o Harish Chand Verma r/o 29/840, Tansen

Nagar, Gwalior, (MP) has studied up to Xth from Gwalior. He worked in

call center at Nehru Place, presently he is also unemployed & facing

cash crisis.

SOFTWARE PROFESSIONAL ARRESTED FOR IMPERSONATING STAFF OF OFFICE

OF DEFENCE SECRETARY, MINISTRY OF DEFENCE, GOVERNMENT OF INDIA .

With the arrest of one Gourav Kumar Singh aged 28 years S/O Sh

Shatrughan Singh R/O WZ-140, Lane no- 2 Lajwanti Garden, Delhi, New Delhi District

police has solved an important case of impersonation, forgery and cheating in the

name of Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Several incriminating

documents related to Defence land and a laptop used for preparation of forged

documents were also recovered from his possession.

INCIDENT

On 20/05/11, accused Gourav Kumar Singh came to State Bank of India, Central Sect

Branch, North Block, New Delhi and introduced himself as staff of Ministry of

Defence, South Block, New Delhi. He submitted the Current Account opening form

having photograph and stamp of Sh Pardeep Kumar, Secretary, Ministry of Defence,

Government of India for opening a Current Account in the name of “Ministry of

Defence”. He also submitted three more documents along with the application form.

He also directed the Bank official to deliver the cheque book at his residence i.e HNo

WZ-140, Lane no- 2 Lajwanti Garden, Delhi- 110046.

On suspicion, it was verified from the Office of Secretary, MOD and was

found that no such person was sent to Bank for opening the Current Account and no

person namely Gourav works in the office of Sh. Pradeep Kumar, Secretary , MOD.

All documents submitted by him in Bank were forged. In this regard, a case vide FIR

No: 88/11 U/S 419/420/468/471 IPC was registered in P.S Parliament Street, New

Delhi.

TEAM:

A team was constituted under the supervision of ACP Pt Street and comprising of

SHO Pt St, Inspector special staff along with other Police station staff to investigate

the case and conduct raids.

INVESTIGATION

Quick and prompt action was taken by the police and a raid was conducted at

HNo WZ-140, Lane no- 2 Lajwanti Garden, Delhi- 110046 from where the accused

Gourav Kumar Singh S/O Sh Shatrughan Singh was arrested. Receipt of submitting of

account opening form in SBI, 24 photograhes of Sh Pardeep Kumar, Secretary, Min.

of Defence and mobile phone were recovered from his possession. During

interrogation he disclosed that he planned to open an account in the name of

Ministry of Defence to cheat people by inducement of getting done freehold Defence

land in their name. Money received from these people would be deposited in this

account and then withdrawn by making forged signature. He also disclosed that he

downloaded photograph of Sh Pardeep Kumar, the National Emblem and stamps of

Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Government of India & Ministry of Defence from

different internet sites. Further investigation is in progress.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED .

Gourav Kumar Singh is the son of an Ex service man Sh Shatrughan Singh.

His father is settled in Ahmed Nagar after retirement from Indian Army. He is a

computer professional and has wide knowledge of computer operations. He has

done Master of Computer Application from Pune University. Accused is unemployed

and has a lavish lifestyle, he commits white collar crimes to meet this expenses. He

has tried to open the bank account in the name of Ministry of Defence in a deceitful

manner with the intention to cheat people.

PREVIOUS INVOLVEMENTS

He was arrested in case FIR No 20/11 U/S 419/420/170 IPC in P.S

Vasant Kunj South, Delhi for impersonating himself as an I.A.S officer. He was caught

for submitting forged allotment letter and other documents for allotment of a DDA

flat in Vasant Kunj, Delhi.

HIGH PROFILE CHEATER / COLONIZER INVOLVED IN USURPING THE PROPERTIES OF NRIs IN INDIA WITH FORGED DOCUMENTS ARRESTED 

Staff of PS S.J. Enclave, South District has arrested a highly qualified accused namely Dheeraj Singh (46 years) s/o Raghubir Singh r/o B-46/6, Main Wazirabad Road, Bhajanpura, Delhi, who is involved in usurping the properties of NRIs who rarely visit India.  BRIEF FACTS / INCIDENT:         On 05/01/11, Sh. Surinder Mlahotra (complainant) s/o Sh. Jailal Malhotra r/o C-41-A, Kirti Nagar, Delhi visited PS S.J. Enclave and reported that Smt. Raj Rani who is presently residing in UK has given him Special Power of Attorney to look after her property located at R-4 (2nd floor), Green Park Extension, New Delhi. He further stated that the said property has been taken into possession

by one Dheeraj and his brother Ram Niwas forcefully. After verifying the fact, a case vide FIR No. 81/11 dated 07/04/11 u/s 419, 420, 448, 468, 471 & 34 IPC PS S.J. Enclave was registered and investigation up. INVESTIGATION : 

The investigation of the case taken up by SI D. V. Singh along with Ct Ravinder and Ct Salim Khan under the close supervision of Inspr. Avtar Singh Rawat, SHO/S.J. Enclave. 

During the course of investigation, the team visited the alleged property several times but the same was found locked. The electricity bill of the property was obtained and it was found that electric connection was obtained on forged documents by accused Ram Niwas.  A copy of Receipt-cum-Possession Letter was also obtained from the Saket Court which revealed that signatures of one witness and landlady were forged. Intensive search to locate accused Dheeraj Singh and Ram Niwas was made and it was found that both had earlier been arrested in case FIR No. 04/2010 u/s 419,420 and 120B IPC by the Anti-Corruption Branch, CBI, Chandigarh for cheating crores of rupees of Punjab National Bank, Chandigarh Branch in connivance with the bank officials. Both accused had been released on bail from Bural Jail, Chandigarh. During investigation, officials of Anti-Corruption Branch, Chandigarh were also contacted to obtain the details of accused persons. Several raids were conducted in Panchkula (Chandigarh), Ghaziabad and Wazirabad, Delhi to arrest the accused persons but they were found absconding. Finally, accused Dheeraj Singh (46 years) s/o Raghubar Singh r/o B-46/6, Main Wazirabad Road, Bhajanpura, Delhi was arrested from Chandigarh. INTERROGATION : 

On sustained interrogation, accused disclosed that he runs two companies in the name of D. S. Industry and Himland Real Estate Pvt. Ltd in Punjab. His wife Mamta Chaudhary also runs a company in the name of Asia Himalaya Overseas in Punjab. Accused used to visit foreign countries, especially UK and befriend with the Indians either by staying with them or by making contracts with them on the pretext of his companies and also collects information about their properties in India. After getting complete details of the properties, he selects vulnerable victim like old NRIs who rarely visit India but having opulence properties in India. After that he along with co-accused prepares forged documents of the targeted property of NRI and usurps the same.    

Accused further disclosed that in the same way, when he visited UK, he met the landlady Smt. Raj Rani w/o late Sohan Lal in Birmingham, UK and got

the photocopies of the documents of her property located at R-4 Green Park Extension, New Delhi. After that he prepared forged “Receipt-cum-Possession Letter’’ by forging the signatures of landlady and one of the witnesses and took possession over the 2nd floor of the property. Further investigation is on to apprehend co-accused Ram Niwas.

         PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSON : 

Dheeraj Singh (46 years) s/o Raghubar Singh r/o B-46/6, Main Wazirabad Road, Bhajanpura, Delhi is highly qualified and well versed in computer. He is married and has two children. He originally belongs to Village Milak, PS Loni, District Ghaziabad, UP.  Recently, he undertook the project of developing the land and constructing the flats at Baddi, an industrial area in Himachal Pradesh and collected huge amount from the NRIs for this projects. Accused along with his wife and brother Ram Niwas was earlier arrested by Anti Corruption Branch, CBI, Chandigarh for cheating crores of rupees from PNB, Chandigarh Branch by taking loan for the said project on forged documents.
