Everything depends on what we celebrate today Or rather everything depends on who we celebrate Our Lord Jesus is gloriously risen from the dead Everything has its meaning life and existence in him All creation fallen in a world of darkness has been redeemed by his sacrifice death and resurrection The Easter Vigil starts with a large fire that in turn lights up the church by the members carrying a little bit of that same fire There was another large fire at the beginning of Holy Week at the glorious cathedral of Paris Notre Dame in France It was half destroyed by the considerable fire It is warming to a priestrsquos heart to hear accounts of people coming back to the faith despite this sad event They saw the destruction of the grand cathedral and they considered the Church as a whole They have considered the downward path of society and their own lives They donrsquot despair of the loss of the cathedral building itself but rather they weep for themselves and their children They went to confession amended their lives and have again committed to practicing regularly the Catholic faith Christ who is our light shines in this world of darkness He shines in our hearts and gives us supernatural faith hope and love Everything depends on him who has conquered the depths and darkness of death
