My name is Antonia Coach, a student of the Frome Technical High School where I am currently in grade eleven preparing for the 2015 CSEC examination. I am writing regarding my ‘School Base Assessment’ (SBA) In Office Administration for the year 2015.

As a part of the requirement for the examination, I must complete a research. The topic of my research is How does Office Equipment impact the workers of the Accounting Department of the National Commercial Bank (NCB) Savanna-la-mar.

I am requesting an interview at your organization to learn more about the impact of Office Equipment on the workers. I would also like to hand out questionnaires to members of your staff and to observe the workers on the job for my Office Orientation School Base Assessment.

In completing this research information was gathered by sending out application letters to the organization requesting an interview in order to interact with the members of staff by questioning them. The following methods were used:

Questionnaires- This method was used because the questions asked were answered by the person in a friendly and accurate way. This was the best way to receive enough information I needed. Twenty questionnaires were prepared for the employees.

Interviews- This method was chosen because it allows the person who is being interviewed to answer the questions in a complete and understanding way due to personal contact which took place in the Customer Service office. The manager was the person being interviewed at the moment. Five questions were asked of him in order to gain valuable information for this research.

Observation – I chose this method because it shows how the organization performs. It also allow the researcher to observe the actions of the staff on a daily basis.

Date 2014 Activities Comments September 9 Selection of topic. Topic was submitted to the

teacher’s approval.September 10 Correspondence was drafted for

teacher’s approval.Correspondence was returned with corrections.

September 16 Corrections were made and correspondence was typed.

Teacher checked the letter to see if it was corrected and properly formatted.

September 17 Delivered the letter to the business and an appointment made to see manager.

Letter was received by the receptionist. The manager was understanding and helpful.

September 19 Questionnaires were printed an issued to employees with permission from the manager to be completed and handed in.

Employees received questionnaires cardially and completed them.

September 22 Collected all the questionnaires that were issued to employees.

Collected questionnaires which were completed ad had the relevant information.

September 23 Visited the organization to observe the different activities.

Received and observed important information used by office workers.

September 24 Visited business and was being investigated to give sincere gratitude.

He meeting went well and was kept in a clean environment.

September 27 Prepared a draft of SBA. Typing went well and all was completed.

September 30 Submitted first draft of SBA to teacher.

The teacher checked the draft for correction.

Health & Safety Practices

A panic alarm button was been displayed in all departments which instructed the use of it in case of emergency.

Staff Rules

One of the major rule that i was being compel with by the researcher was the use of cellular phones. The use of cell phone was prohibited within the organization.
