Do you love applying makeup and doing beauty treatments? Have you ever considered turning your passion into a career? This Beauty Therapy: Short Course is suitable for people who would like to learn more about the human body and the beauty industry. It will give you a basic understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the human body, and how to communicate with clients in a professional manner. This is an introductory course and does not qualify you as a beauty therapist. If you would like to pursue a professional career in beauty therapy, have a look at our Beauty Therapy Comprehensive course. Not only will you learn about a variety of beautytreatments, but you’ll also learn how to start up and manage your own business.

This short course in beauty therapy covers anatomy and physiology. You will learn about the different parts and components of the human body, how to operate professionally in a beauty salon environment, and how to use proper business English when dealing with clients and co-workers.

This module differentiates between management and leadership. You

will learn about different leadership styles and how to apply one (or a combination) of these styles to a

business department. This modulediscusses how to communicate with

and motivate employees effectively in order to increase their productivity.

You will learn how to understand employee behaviour, how to make

decisions about employment, delegate work, and evaluate employees.

This module introduces you tomultiple aspects of human biology like cells and tissues, genetics, and the structure and functions of the different parts of the body. You will

also learn about the different organ systems such as the respiratory system, digestive system and

lymphatic system.

You will learn how to communicate effectively (verbally and non-verbally)

with clients, present a professional image, deal with client complaints

and perform reception duties within a beauty salon. You will also learn how to assess clients and maintain

hygiene standards.

As a trained makeup artist, you will have the abilities andtools needed to accentuate a client’s most prominent features, so they can put their best faceforward. This Makeup Application: Proficiency Course will equip you with the skills needed toapply professional-looking makeup using various techniques and build strong relationshipswith your clients, and it will give you some insights into what it takes to start your own business.If you would like to expand on your makeup skills even more, you could enrol for ourMake up Application: Skills Course.

You will learn about different makeup techniques, makeup tools, and makeup for different ages and

special occasions. You will also learn how to assess clients and match their

makeup to their skin tone and hair colour.

BUSINESS AND OFFICEADMINISTRATION

This module covers filing systems and recordkeeping, keeping an office inventory, and maintaining office

equipment. You will also learn how to handle customer queries,

communicate effectively, make travel arrangements, and arrange business

events. This module also covers business banking and finances.

EXCELLENCE INSERVICE: ADVANCED

You will learn how to understand, monitor, and manage service

standards across industries. You will also learn how to select, train

and motivate service staff in order to maintain service standards by

understanding their customers and their needs.

In this module, you will learn about the differences between an

entrepreneur, a small business manager and an intrapreneur. You

will learn about the factors necessary for success in entrepreneurship, and the characteristics and important functional management skills that

entrepreneurship entails. You will also be introduced to basic business

concepts, the business environment, and feasible

small business ideas.
