Dear Readers,
A very warm greetings to all of you. The editorial board is pleased to present before you
the activities the college has witnessed during the period. The board as usual, with the
same enthusiasm has covered all the events of the college for the months of April, May
and June. These months have witnessed a spate of events encompassing academic, co-
curricular and extra-curricular activities. We hope that this issue of the Newsletter
gives the same reading experience as ever to its readers.

To help the persons suffering from Thalassemia and road
accidents, a Blood Donation Camp was organised on 27th
June 2015 in collaboration with NGO Marg Darshan. The
Chief Guest Dr. Amit Agrawal, IAS, D.C. Faridabad
appreciated the effort and donated Rs. 21000/- to Marg
Darshan. The patron of Marg Darshan Sh. Alok Mittal, IPS , IG
made the students aware of road safety, traffic rules and first
aid. He himself donated the blood to set an example for
others. The stage was conducted by Mr. Tarun Gupta, CA and
he gave the Oath of Road Safety. Total 92 units of blood were

Usha Aggarwal, Incharge, Wing II and Incharges of NSS units
and Youth Red Cross Society and their volunteers were also
present there.
To cater to the needs of modern times, Aggarwal College Ballabgarh has started many vocational Add-on-Courses. Professor H. Devaraj, Vice President, University Grants Commission, New Delhi inaugurated two fully equipped
thComputer Labs in Wing II on 15 June 2015. Many facilities, like Smart Boards through which recording, scanning and interacting can be done, are available in these labs. The
financial aid was provided by UGC under Add-on-Courses scheme. Prof. H. Devaraj visited all the three wings and appreciated the college and its infrastructure and promised to give preference to proposals sent by the college. Sh. Devender Gupta, President, Aggarwal College Managing, Committee, Dr. Basudev Gupta, Vice President, Faculty and other eminent members of Management were present there.

Annual Prize Distribution Function was celebrated in
Aggarwal College, Ballabgarh on 10th April, 2015. The Chief
Guest of the function was Dr. Anil Jain, State Prabhari, BJP
(Haryana). Sh. Krishan Pal Gurjar, MP, Hon'ble Minister of
State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India,
presided over the function. Guests of Honour were Sh. Mool
Chand Sharma, MLA, Ballabgarh Assembly Constituency, Sh.
Vipul Goyal, MLA, Faridabad Assembly Constituency, Ms.
Seema Trikha, MLA, Badhkal Assembly Constituency and Sh.
Deepak Mangla, Political Secretary to Chief Minister, Govt. of
Haryana. The distinguished guests were given floral
welcome by members of College Governing Body.
Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta welcomed the guests and
presented Annual Report of the college in which he
highlighted the achievements of the students in the field of
academics, sports, NSS, NCC, cultural and other co-curricular
activities as a result of which the college has been awarded 'A'
ANNUAL PRIZE DISTRIBUTION FUNCTION
grade by the NAAC Peer Team. Various cultural items were
performed during the function such as Haryanvi folk dances,
Rasia group dance and an inspirational skit on Beti Bachao,
Beti Padhao.
Dr. Anil Jain, in his address said that the aim of organizing
such functions is to motivate the students to showcase their
potential and talent in whatever opportunity they get.
Sh. Krishan Pal Gurjar enlightened the youngsters with 3Ds,
that is, Determination, Dedication and Discipline. He said that
education is the foundation of a nation and the responsibility
of building a strong nation lies on the youth.
On this occasion, 250 students were being awarded by the
Chief Guest who performed extraordinarily in the field of
education, sports and various cultural activities. Poonam, a

student of Arts was awarded with Mata Kishan Dei Gold
Medal for getting highest marks. Nidhi Gupta was awarded
with Conscience of Science Gold Medal for scoring highest
marks in Science. In the field of Commerce, Geeta got highest
marks and was awarded with Aggarwal College Alumni Gold
Medal.
Lokesh of B.Com. 2nd and Savita of B.A. 2nd were declared as
the Best Sportspersons. Raghav Bafna was adjudged as the
Best NSS Volunteer and Rohit Sharma was declared as the
Best NCC Cadet. Preeti Lamba and Gaurav Garg were also
awarded for their achievements at International level in
sports. In Post Graduate category, Best Student (Boys) was
awarded to Ankit Singla of M.Com. and Best Student (Girls)
was bestowed on Rakhi of M.Sc. The award for the Best
Student (U.G.) (Boys) was given to Raghav Bafna of B.Com
(CA) and Best Student (U.G.) (Girls) was given to Kamlesh of
B.A. Ankit Singla and Tulika were declared Best Actors.

CONVOCATION FUNCTION
Convocation Function of Aggarwal College Ballabgarh was held on 14th April 2015. Hon'ble Mr. Justice Arjan Kumar Sikri, Supreme Court of India, was the Chief Guest. Hon'ble Mr. Justice Naresh Kumar Sanghi, Haryana High Court, was the Guest of Honour. The Chief Guest was welcomed by the distinguished members of Aggarwal Vidya Pracharni Sabha
including former President Sh. Rattan Singh Gupta, current President Sh. Devender Gupta, Principal Dr. Krishan Kant
Gupta and Senior Faculty Members. 789 Graduates & Post Graduates were conferred degrees. 66 students in Arts, 270 in Commerce, 102 in B.Sc., 20 in BBA, 81 in BBA (CAM), 97 in BCA, 32 in M.A. (Hindi), 40 in M.Com., 34 in M.Sc. (Maths), 16 M.Sc. (Physics), 31 in M.Sc. (Computer Science) got their degrees by the Chief Guest.
Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta presented the Annual Report of the College highlighting the achievements of students in Academics, Sports, Cultural and other Co-Curricular activities. 17 bright students who got positions in the University Merit list were also awarded degrees. In his Convocation Address, the Chief Guest exhorted the students
to accept the challenges of changing times. He said that they should be mentally and physically capable to fulfil their
dreams and ambitions. The Chief Guest further advised them to imbibe moral values in their life and to work hard as there is no short cut to success. He congratulated the Principal on being awarded as the Best Principal of M.D.U, Rohtak. Appreciating the efforts of NSS volunteers of the college, he stated that they can play a significant role in Nation building. After the Address, the guests were given mementos as token of regards.
Sh. Ashok Kaushik, convener of the function, presented a vote of thanks.
Many distinguished guests including Dr. Priyanka Soni, SDM, Ballabgarh and Judges Faridabad District Court, members of the governing body of the college including Dr. Basudev Gupta, Vice President, Secretary Advocate Sh. Vijay Gupta, Treasurer Sh. Mehar Chand Mittal, Advocate Sh. Dinesh Gupta and Advocate Sh. Ashok Mittal graced the occasion.

ACTIVITIES AT A GLANCE
WORKSHOP ON FACULTY DEVELOPMENT:
SPORTS ACHIEVEMENTS:
The Computer Science Department organised a four days workshop for the non teaching staff of the college which concluded on 3rd April 2015. Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta was the Chief Guest of the workshop. Various relevant and technical aspects such as Data processing, Data Retrieval, Data Backup and recovery, mail merge etc. were discussed. The workshop proved to be quite beneficial for the smooth functioning of the college.
Lovekesh of M.Sc Computer Science made us proud by bagging second position in Mumbai Mayor Cup National Indoor Archery Competition held at Chhatrapati Shivaji Bhonsle Sports Complex in Andheri, Mumbai on 3rd & 4th
April 2015. Mr. Devender Gupta President, Dr. Vasudeo Gupta, Vice President, Advocate Sh. Dinesh Gupta and Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta along with the DPEs of the college congratulated Lovekesh for his remarkable achievement.
GUEST LECTUREthA Lecture was organized on 6 April 2015 by Commerce
Department at Wing-I Auditorium of Aggarwal College, Ballabgarh under the guidance of Principal Dr. Krishan Kant
Gupta for enhancing employable skills of Under Graduate Commerce Students. In this lecture, information was given about CAT (Certified by Institute of Cost Accountants of India) Course to students for enhancing their employable skill. Main speakers were Mrs. Gunjan Arora and Mrs. Priya Mehra . Mrs. Gunjan Arora is a Director of Spark- Institute of Commerce and Management. Mrs. Priya Mehra is working as coordinator in this institution. Mrs. Gunjan Arora told the students about CAT course and various aspects of that course.150 student of B.Com-III along with faculty members were present there.
ESSAY WRITING COMPETITIONth An Essay Writing Competition was organised on 8 April,
2015 by Political Science Department, Aggarwal College
Ballabgarh. The topics of the competition were 'Freedom of
Expression and Thought' and 'Impact of Language and Caste
on Indian Politics'. 13 students of B.A. participated in this
competition and they were judged by Dr. Jaypal Singh, Dr.
Geeta Gupta and Ms. Ritu Chaudhary. Hinakshi of B A I got
first, Komal Rawat of B.A. II got second and both Anjali of
B.A. II and Kajal of B.A. I got third prize.

CAREER IN ACCOUNTINGA Guest Lecture was organised by the Commerce
Department of the college under the guidance of Principal
Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta.Sh. Ankit Singhal, a renowned CA,
was the speaker who deliberated on 'Career in Accounting'
for B.A. students. Stressing on the importance of accounting,
Mr. Ankit said that it is the basis of all professions. The
Principal assured the students that such lectures will be
arranged frequently for their benefit. All the faculty
members of Commerce were present and around 150
students attended the lecture.
FAREWELL PARTIES GALOREthOn 16 April 2015, B.A. 2nd year students of wing-I
organised a farewell party for the final year students which
was marked by much fun & frolic. Various entertaining
activities & competitions were staged for them. Principal Dr.
Krishan Kant Gupta exhorted the students not to lose
heart in adversity but to keep up their fortitude for
challenges ahead. Ms. Divya was declared as Ms. B.A.,
Pooja as First Runners Up & Rajni was Second Runners Up.
Fifteen students of B.A. III were felicitated for their
contribution in various college activities.
A Farewell Party was organised for B.Com Final year students
by the second year students of the college in which they
presented various items and organised various competitions
for their entertainment. Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta, in
his address, highlighted the significance of true friendship
and how the company of good people affects the life of a

person. In the ramp walk competition, Ms. Sonam was Ms.
B.Com. Final, Ms. Jyoti Pandey was I Runners Up, Ms.
Chanchal was II Runners Up, Ms. Sakshi was Ms. Smile and
Ms. Priyanka was declared as Ms. Stylist. All the teachers of
the college were present there.
thOn 29 April, 2015, all the final year students of Post
Graduate classes of Aggarwal College Ballabgarh wing-III
were given a Farewell Party in which Principal, Dr. K.K.
Gupta, motivated the students to work harder and carve
successful careers for themselves. Various interesting games
and events were organised for the students as well. Ms.
Narvada, M.Sc. Maths, was declared 'Miss P.G.', Praveen
Mathur, M.Sc. Maths was awarded with 'Best Personality'
prize and Ms. Nisha (M.A. Eco.) was declared 'Miss Talent'. All
the teachers blessed the students for a bright future.
thA Farewell Party was organised on 28 April 2015 by B.C.A.
II year students for their seniors with much fanfare.
Principal Dr. K.K. Gupta wished good luck to the students and
said that a person is known by the company he keeps. Many
competitions were held in which Miss. Alisha was selected as
Ms. BCA and Akash Aggarwal as Mr. BCA, Rajat as Mr. Perfect
and Miss Aashvi as Ms. Personality. All the students were full
of fun and enthusiasm.

HEALTH CHECK-UP CAMP
A Free Health Check-Up Camp was organised by Aggarwal
College Ballabgarh on the occasion of International Health
Day in Village Chandawali which was adopted under the
University Outreach Programme by Aggarwal College,
Ballabgarh. The camp was organised under the guidance of
Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta and with inspiration from
President Sh. Devender Kumar Gupta. The camp was
organised in collaboration with doctors of Metro Hospital
Faridabad, who examined the villagers of their Blood
Pressure, Diabetes and heart related problems. The camp
was organised by Dr. Vinod Rathi , Dr. Renu Aggarwal, Dr.
Naresh Kamra and Dr. Jaypal Singh
WORKSHOP ON CAREER COUNSELING
The Career Counseling Cell of Aggarwal College Ballabgarh
in collaboration with T.I.M.E organized a Career Counseling
Workshop on 'Group Discussion & Personal Interview' on th18 April, 2015. The workshop was conducted by Mr. J.D Aul,
Ex- Chairman, Punjab National Bank. Mr. Aul exhorted the
students about various techniques of participating in group
discussion and how to appear and answer in personal
interviews. They conducted a mock interview session also
for all the students. The workshop was conducted under the
able guidance of Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta and was
attended by final year students of various PG Courses. Dr.
Manoj Shukla, Dr. Shilpa Goel and Ms. Sarika Aggarwal were
also present in the workshop.
SERVING THE SOCIETY
Under the aegis of Outreach Programme, Women Health thWeek was organised on 15 May 2015 by Aggarwal College
Ballabgarh. Dr. Mrs. Chanchal, Gynecologist, Metro Hospital, Faridabad examined the village women and made them

aware of various health related problems. Mrs. Manju Gupta, President, Women Cell, Chandawali village contributed a lot to make it successful. Dr. Vinod Rathi, Co-ordinator, Outreach Programme, Dr. Renu Aggarwal, DPE Naresh Kumar were present there.
TRAINING THE TRAINERSA One Day Workshop on 'Training the Trainers' was
thorganized by Aggarwal College Ballabgarh on 15 June, 2015 by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell under the guidance of Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta. Dr. Rampelli
Satyanarayana, Prof. Distance Education & a Teacher Trainer, IGNOU, New Delhi & Staff Training and Research Institute of Distance Education (STRIDE) was the Keynote Speaker of the workshop.
Prof. S.K. Chakravarti, External Expert IQAC, Dr. Basudeo Gupta, Vice President, Aggarwal College Governing Body, Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta, Coordinator Dr. Manoj Shukla & all the staff members attended this workshop. Dr. Rampelli Satyanarayana in his address elucidated the role of a trainer in training the learners. He said that learning is a science which should be accessible, flexible and equitable for all. He also opined that education takes a long period to mature and is required for continuous professional growth and development.
FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
WORKSHOP
A Faculty Development Programme under the Prime thMinister Skill Development Scheme was organised on 18
June 2015. Mrs. Raj Lakshmi Venkatraman from GRAS Academy elaborated the every aspect of this scheme and its importance in getting employment. She also satisfied the various queries citing many examples.
rdA five days Workshop was organised on 23 June 2015 by Computer and IT department of the college. The teachers were given the training to use Nova Smart Board. There are very few colleges in Haryana with Smart Board facility and Aggarwal College is one of them. Mr. Uday Sisodia, engineer, Visicom emphasised the need and importance of Smart Boards and satisfied the queries.

Under the able guidance of Principal Dr. K.K. Gupta, the Placement Cell along with NIIT successfully organised a Job
thfair on 26 June 2015. Ten Companies such as Mapping Minds (Converges, Policy Bazar), Techno-aider Technology Pvt. Ltd., Tech-Vedic, HDFC, Genpact, Wipro, India Infolinc etc.
participated in this fair. Around 250 students of U.G. and P.G. level participated and faced interviews and written test. Selected students will be posted in NCR only. Principal Dr. K.K.Gupta appreciated the efforts made by Dr. Shilpa Goel, Convener and others member of the Placement Cell and congratulated the selected students and wished them a bright future ahead.
