TERMS OF SALE(Please read before bidding)

All bids are entered as received and lots distributed to the highestbidder without reserve. When two or more bids are the same, and thereare no higher bids, the first received gets the lot. When two or more un-limited bids on a certain lot are sent, the first one received gets the lotat a 5% advance over the highest actual bid.

Lots are sold at so much per piece, NOT by the lot. Thus, if there are8 pieces in a lot and you wish to pay $2.00 for the lot, then make yourbid 2 5 cents.

Coins will be bought as much below your bids as possible as this is

competitive bidding carried out in good faith.

Everything is guaranteed genuine, unless otherwise stated.

New bidders should send references or a deposit of at least 25 per centof their total bids, otherwise they will not be accepted, since I can notbe expected to send out goods on open account to persons whose goodstanding is not known to me.

Terms prompt cash settlement after the sale, remittance to be made bymoney order, draft, check, or in any way most convenient to the purchaser.Stamps accepted under one dollar only.

The usual charge of 5 % will be made for executing your bids, and forpacking and sending out material. No charge made on anything not actu-ally purchased. This fee is very low for the superior service I expect togive you.

To those known to me who have established credit, I will send out pur-chases on open account. In appreciation of this courtesy, the purchaserremits promptly.

Receipted bills are not sent out after your remittance as this is unnec-essary. Your check, draft, or money order itself is a- receipt. However,if a 2-cent stamp is enclosed we will send receipt.

Be certain that you bid on the lot you wish to buy. We will correcterrors and adjust claims, but you should not expect us to pay for yourmistakes. Be careful in making your bids. Be sure that you bid on thelot you wish to buy, and AT SO MUCH PER PIECE.

My classifications and descriptions are based on knowledge gained thrumore than 15 years of earnest dealing in coins and paper money. I haveendeavored to refrain from over-rating the quality of a lot. It is quitenatural and common for a collector to over-rate the condition of his owncoins, sometimes without realizing it, just the same as a proud father bragsabout his child. But when a dealer sells a coin to a customer, he shouldplace himself in the customer’s place and abide by the golden rule. I

want to have my customers get what they expect, and try to representeverything fairly.

If you do not know how much to bid on any item, write me and I shall

be glad to inform you as to its value.

BIDS MUST REACH ME BY THE MORNING OF THE SALE. Mail

them in time so as to &void disappointment. At each sale soma bids

arrive too late to be executed.

LET ME SELL YOUR COLLECTION OR DUPLICATES IN THESESALES. Quick returns and satisfactory results are realized. My sales

are held regularly each month. Write for terms.

KEEP ON MY MAILING LIST and keep your address up-to-date by

sending in some bids. If you find nothing to bid on, request next auction

list simply by postal card to insure your getting it. You will find a great

variety of numismatic material in this sale, some choice and rare items,

and will be well paid for giving the contents of this catalog your careful

perusal.

If you find nothing in this catalog to interest you, I would be pleased

if you would hand it to an interested person if you can. REMEMBERthat if I do not hear from you for two or three sales, YOUR NAME IS

SUBJECT TO WITHDRAWAL from my maiing list.

THE BEST WAY to insure yourself, is to SEND IN SOME BIDS. I

want to thank my many customers for our pleasant dealings, the wordsof general satisfaction received, and the prompt remittances. Some col-

lectors bought coins from me 15 years ago, and are still with me in mysales each month. Especially do I thank you.

PLEASE BID BY THE PIECE UNLESS STATED TO BID FOR THE LOT.Thus if there are 12 pieces in a lot and you wish to pay $6 for the lot,

then bid 50c. At each sale someone bids by the lot. Don’t do this; bid

by the piece.

Read every WORD in this catalog-—or you are very apt to miss just

what you want.
