ARTICLE I.

TITLE AND CO~Oil'~JCATIONS.

SECTION 1. This Lodge shall be known by the name of East Lake Lodge, No . .JSO, A. F. and A. M., and shall be governed in strict conformity to the Constitution of the Grand Lodge of Alabama, its edicts and resolutions, and t he ancient landmarks, customs and usages of Free Masonry. .

SEc. 2. The stated communications of this Lodge shall be held at East Lake, Ala., on Saturday before the first and third Sundays of each month. Svecial Com­munications may be called by the Worshipful Master, or in his absence by the Senior or Junior Warden, by giving proper notice to the members.

ARTICLE II.

OFFICEHS.

SECTION 1. T he officers of the Lodge shall be a W or­shipful Master, Senior Warden, Junior Warden, T reas­urer, Secretary, Senior Deacon, Junior Deacon, two Stewards, Chaplain and Tiler, all of whom shall be elected annually by ballot, at the stated communication next preceding the 24th of June. A majority of the votes cast shall be necessary to an election.

SEc. 2. The officers shall be installed on the 24th of June, or as soon thereafter as practicable, and continue in office until their successors are elected and installed.

ARTICLE III.

DUTIES OF OFFICERS.

SECTION 1. It shall be the duty of the Worshipful

Stw :3. lt s hall be the duty of the Treasurer to receive all moneys from the Secretary, g iving his r eceipt fo•· the sa me, pay them out by order of the Wors hipful .Ma:>ter with the consen t of the Lodge, and shall exhibi t his account cunent when called for by t he Lodge .

• 'EC . 4. T he Secretary shall keep a correct record of a.ll things proper to be written, and s hall collect all monc_ys due the Lodge; pa.y them over to the Treasurer, taking his receipt therefor. He s hall open an account with each member of the Lodge, and make an exhibit of his accounts whenever called for by the Worshipful )£as ter o r the Lodge. He shall furthermore report all memhers in arrea rs for two years' dues at the Hegula r ('ommnnications next preceding the annual election, and shall keep a complete reg-i~ter of all t he members of the Lodge, showing the names, dates of initiation, Passings, Raisings, Admissions, Dismissals, Deaths, . ·uspensions or Expulsions, as the case may be.

S ..:c. 5. The duties of tho Deacons and Stewards shall bo such as prescribed by the Constitution of this Order.

s~:<' . 6. The Tiler shall faithfully t i le the Lodge; se rve all notices and summons, clean and prepare the hall and perform such other duties as the Worshipful ~laster may direct.

ARTICL E IV

CO:\Dll'l'TEES.

SECT ION 1. The Worshipful Master and Warden shall constitute a Committee of ('harity, and shall have power to draw on the Treasurer for any sum not exceeding

ten dollars, dming the recess of the Lodge, for one per. son, and shall report the proceedings at the next Reg­ular Communication.

8 1-:c. 2. At the first Regular Communication after his installation, the Worshipful Master shall appoint a com­mittefl of three members on Finance, who shall serve the ensuing Masonic year unless r emoved for cause. And it shall be the duty of the Finance Committee to examine all accounts against the Lodge, and repo1·t thereon. They shall examine the books, accounts and vouchers of the Secretary and Treasurer, and report the condition of each to the Lodge at the Regular Commun­ication next preceding the 24th day of June.

ARTICLE V .

D l;ES.

SRC't'ION 1. Every Master Mason who is a member of this Lodge shall pay S2.00 per annum as dues, payable at the Hegular Communication next precediug the 24th day of June.

SEc 2. Any member who shall be found in arrears for his dues for two years at the Regular ('ommunica­tion next preceding the 24th day of .June, must be de­clared suspended , and the Worshipful "'Jaster must cause the Secretary to enter such sentence opposite hi s name, and such sentence shall remain in force until all arrears a re paid.

St£<'. :3. Xo member shall be allowed to vote in the annual election of oJTicers unless his dues arc paid.

AHTICLE VI.

FEES.

SECTION 1. The fees for conferring the three Deg-rees in this Lodge sha.ll be as follows :

For Ent~red Apprentice, 815.00. For Fellow Craft, $5.00. For Master :Mason, $10.00. For Affiliation, $1.00. s~:c. 2. The Fees in all cases must be in the hands of

the Secretary before any action can be ha.d thereon.

SEVTIOX 1. The presiding officer shall decide all ques­tions o f order.

SE('. 2. Any member wishing to speak shall arise and address the Worshipful i\Iaster, and shall not be inter­rupted unless he depart from the subject.

S~<:t·. :l. On all tJllCStions the will of the Lodge sh:tll be obtained hy the usual methods of parliamentary bodies, and a majority slrall govern when it is not other­wise provided.

ARTICLE X.

TRIALS.

~ ~:cTio:-~ 1. Any member of this Lodge having the k nowledge of uomasonic conduct of a .)Jason within the jurisdiction shall report such conduct to the Lodge at the first Regular Communication thereafter, or as soon as practicable, when the Lodge shall take such act ion as may be 11ecessary.

SEC. 2. T rials in this Lodge shall in all cases be conducted strictly in accordance with the Constitution and Edicts of the Grand Lodge of Abtbama, as made and provided t herefor.

ARTICLE XI.

AliEND~lENTS.

SECTION 1. No amendments to these By-Laws shall be made unless proposed in writing at a Hegular Com­m unication, and shall lie over until the next Regular Communication, when it shall require a majority of two-thirds of t he members present for its adoption.
