AFICO Board Insulation (BO)DESCRIPTION APPLICATION

AF'CO Board Insulation is composedof fine, stable and uniformly texturedinorganic glass fibers bonded togetherby a non water soluble and fire-retardantthermosetting and heat resistant resin, andformed into semi-rigid rectangular boardsor slabs. It is free from coarse fibers andshot due to its mineral composition.

AF'CO Board Insulation is a semi-rigid and rigid glass fiber board intendedfor use in commercial, institutional,industrial and residential constructionas thermal and acoustical insulationfor exterior walls, interior walls andpartitions, cavity wall construction, floor,precast structures and prefabricatedhouses The semi-rigid boards withdensities from 24 to 48 kg/m3 (1.5 -3.0 Ib/ft3) are flexible insulation boardsfor application over irregularly shapedsurfaces where board-like properties aredesired. The rigid boards with densitiesfrom 56 to 120 kg/m3, 3.5 - 7.5 Ib/ft3are even more rigid for strength, abuseresistance and a flat appearance.

FACING

AF'CO Board Insulation is availableunfaced or with a factory applied Kraftpaper vapor barriers or other specificsubstract laminated on one side.

Thermal transmittance is the rate of heat flow through unit area ofa wall system when unit temperature difference exists betweenair on each side of the structure.

The U value is the reciprocal of the sum of the resistances of thecomponent parts of the structure plus the resistance of the sur-faces and any cavities within the structure.

Installation Recommendation

AFICO Board Insulation products can be easily cut with a knifeand neatly fitted into irregularly shaped areas.

For Vertical Applications: AFICO Board Insulation can be in-stalled between furring, strips or Z channels. For enclosed applica-tions the product can be impaled on impaling pins and/or adheredwith adhesives.

For Horizontal Applications: AFICO Board Insulation can beinstalled by the use of impaling pins against horizontal surfaces.

On Masonry Surface: AFICO Board Insulation can be installedbetween withes and on wall faces with impaling pins, mechanicalfasteners and/or adhesives.

On Precast Concrete: AFICO Board Insulation can be installedusing impaling pins and/or appropriate adhesives.

~ MAINTENANCE

No maintenance is required. AFICO Board Insulation have ahigh resistance to accidental damage from knocks and handlingduring installation and maintenance. Dimensionally stable undervarying conditions of temperature and humidity, rot proof,odorless, non-hygroscopic and will not sustain vermin or fungusdue to its inorganic and mineral compositions.

The product will maintain its thermal properties throughout thelifetime of the construction and will not age. AFICO fiberglassis non toxic and not hazardous to health.

STORAGE

To avoid moisture in the building construction, AFICO insulationproducts stored outside must be kept dry. We recommend AFICOproducts to be always stored in covered and dry areas. AFICO isnot liable for the damage resulting from inadequate utilization,loading and off loading and mishandling of its products.
