Con t ren e ra (Trena ) McKinnon Battle entered into eternal rest on April 28, 2017 at her home. She was born on October 24, 1925 tothe late John and Ollierena Bingham McKinnon in Clio, South Carolina. Contrenera received her education at Peachmont School in Hoke County. Contrenera married the late James E. Battle in 1956 and there were no children born during their union. She was employed with GTE Sylvania Electronic in Needham, Massachusetts until she retired in 1990. She relocated from Mattapan, MA to Fayetteville, NC in 1992. Contrenera accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church until her health declined. She was a member of Evening Light Chapter #256, Order of the Eastern Star in Raeford, NC. Contrenera had 9 siblings to preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memories: two loving and devoted daughters, Edith H. Talley (Arthur) of Mattapan, MA and Vivian M. Malloy (Willie) of Raeford, NC; three grandchildren, Terence P. Malloy (Angela) of Fayetteville, GA, Shanda H. Malloy of Raeford, NC and Johnathan L. Malloy (Wendy) of Marrietta, GA; Derrik

McDougald preceded her in death and five great grandchildren, Ciara Malloy preceded her in death; one sister, Margaret E. Fax of Raeford, NC; three sisters-in-law, Marie F. Morrison and Naomi McKinnon both of Raeford, NC and Sarah S. McKinnon of Washington, DC as well as a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
