household, his daughter may be as destructively and controllingly aggressive as he. But unable to challenge him openly, she may instead use this aggression with which she has identified, She then uses her feminine wile to lure and castrate other strong men, and in the process bring her father’s empire of control (and possibly wishes for morality) crashing down on him. Moral: If a father has become a Philistine, he runs the risk of breeding a Delilah.

Ode to a Misguided Misogynist
by Marilyn Sherman
There once was an analyst named Freud W h o s e theories made w o m e n annoyed.
“A girl’s just a lad Who’s been royally had; It’s a concept you cannot avoid.”
H e speaks o f that horrible day W h e n you look at your brother and say,
“ W h y is yours so much better T h a n m y little wetter? I wish mine was fashioned that way.”
Freud’s P.E. has trapped usj you see, And if w e don’t completely agree
He’d say w e deny That w e too want u f l y O n the front of our old dungarees.
I f you don’t buy Freud’s ‘rPenis hunt” Recall be admitted just once”
Tha t h e never could find (with that mdrvetous mind) Just “ W h u t does a woman want?”
*Freud stated late in his life, “The great question that has never been answered, and which I have nor yet been able to answer despite my thirty years of research into the feminine soul is: What does a woman want?”
