Some stats on Newton
– 11 Newton Fund competitions run with 7 countries, from a starting position of nearly zero relationships. International partnerships aren’t easy!
– Of the 257 full-stage applications received, there were 159 counts of UK HEIs/Unis being included.
– Of the 257 applications received, we have jointly agreed to fund 57projects = £23.6m worth of grant commitments made to UK businesses, universities and RTOs by Innovate UK.
– 32 of those 57 projects include HEIs.
– In 2/32, the HEI/Uni are leading the project; in 30/32 they are collaborators.
– Of those 32, it looks like only 3 include Scottish Unis (2 x Heriot Watt, and 1 x Edinburgh Napier), all as collaborators.
