MUDD Cup…It’s not over!!! The 5th Annual MUDD Cup event was held September 27th -October 1st and many great times were had by all. The Signature Events Committee would like to thank everyone who participated. The event has grown each year and we are excited to see people come out and participate.
With that said….the game still continues! We actually had a tie between FY North and Twin Towers East. Both buildings won three events. As a tie breaker we are holding a showdown for these two buildings on Thursday, October 16th between FY North and FY South beginning at 6:30pm. Each building will need to create 1 team a piece that consists of 2 to 10 people. Ten people on a team is preferred for one of the challenges. The event will be a Triathlon style challenge. We will have a mental, physical, and random event and the team with the most points at the end will be crowned the Fall 2010 MUDD Cup Champions!! If you are interested in being one of the ten participants for your building please talk to your RA, RD, or AGM.
If you are not on a team we would still love for you to come out and cheer on the participants and make this a wonderful experience for them.

You are responsible for the policies in the Residence Hall Guide. Here’s a few
to remember: Only one person is allowed per
shower stall. Guests must be escorted at all
times!
Located on the second floor of the Marshall University Memorial Student Center is the all new Student Resource Center (SRC). The SRC operates on both a walk-in and a scheduled appoint-ment basis. You can call, e-mail, or go to the SRC web-site to schedule and appoint-ment through their online calendar. If you schedule online, they will even send you an e-mail to remind you about your appointment.
The SRC is staffed by Student Resource Special-ists. These Specialists have been trained in anything from financial aide to basic academic advising. If the student resource specialists do not have an answer to your question, they will know how to find the answer for you.
You can contact the SRC at 304-696-5810 or [email protected].
Another new re-source on campus this year is the Faculty in Residence Pro-gram. Dr. Genevieve Meyers is the new faculty in resi-dence for Twin Towers East. Dr. Meyers can also help you with a variety academic ad-vising questions. Dr. Meyers is available to students who may have issues with classes or professors and need to talk with an understanding adult. Dr. Meyers is a profes-sor of political science as well. So, if you are interested in a career in political sci-ence, or are considering it as a major, then stop by and see what Dr. Meyers has to say.
Dr. Meyers’s office is located on the first floor of Twin Towers East, across from the elevators. Her hours are posted throughout the building. She can also be reached by e-mail. Her door is open, so stop in and say Hi.
Usually when a student needs help in a sub-ject area, he or she has to go over to the tutoring center in Laidley Hall. This, however, is no longer the case! Now, the tutoring center is provid-ing tutoring services right in your very own residence hall’s lobby.
Subjects range from chemistry and biology to history and mathematics. The freshmen can easily benefit from these services, and we encourage them to use it to their advantage. Whether you are confused about the smallest thing or you have no clue what is going in one of your classes, the tutors would love to help you with any subject related problem that you might have.
Listings of the sub-jects, times, and residence hall locations are posted

October has in store, and freshmen are also invited
and encouraged to attend programs held in the First
Year Residence Halls to mingle with and meet other
freshmen!
