OCTOBER NEWS LETTER This new month the children will be learning all about Art, Fall, Festivals. We will talk about the changing weather in autumn. Children- ‘Our Most Valuable Resource’ This monthly issue shall in its path be setting standard values and traditions. Let’s find out what the month holds for the kids. Honoring the Father of the nation ‘GANDHI JAYANTI’ This day is celebrated as the International Day of Non-Violence. Gandhi ji was the symbol of Peace and truth. He also played a very significant role in achieving independence for India from British rule. Junior DPS decided to celebrate the greatness of the Father of the Nation - Mahatma Gandhi, and pledge to adopt his way of life and principle of empathy, humbleness, honesty and sincerity. Activity: Aware the students about significance of Gandhi Jayanti by telling them about the possessions related to it. (3 wise monkeys and charkha during assembly time). Victory of Good over Evil-DUSSEHRA OCTOBER NEWS LETTER Dussehra celebrates the Hindu god Rama’s victory over the demon king Ravana and the triumph of good over evil in a festival spread out over 10 days. It’s a major Indian festival celebrated on the 10th Day of Ashvin month. To instil values which are the core of ramayana, the triumph of good over evil and to establish Dharma. JDPS family decided to celebrate Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana. Activity: Enact Ramayana Play, Ask the students to learn poem on Ramayana. Make Ravana mask as take aways . One of the most significant festivals in Indian culture, Diwali, festival of lights is celebrated by millions of Hindu, Sikhs and jains. The festival displays prayers, firework and celebratory events across the world. The main theme which runs throughout is the triumph of the light over darkness and good over evil. Houses are decorated with candles and colorful lights while their families feast and share gifts. On the occasion of diwali, cultural programme will be held in school. Eco-friendly diwali will be celebrated in the school premise. Activity: of Students will come in ethnic wear and will present dances and songs, all decoration them, which carries one or other message. Rangoli making and diya activities will be held in school. Festival of Lights- Diwali Halloween monster mask costume bash!!! Our little JDPS will come in Halloween costumes and the entire school will have a halloween setup. ‘Be your child’s Best friend’ Make your child realize that you are always there for him/her. Tell them they are loved, secured and wanted. Help them to be open with you.
