Alzheimers Walk Update Edgemere is thrilled to announce that our

first ever Satellite Walk to End

Alzheimer’s was a HUGE SUCCESS!

We had around 150 people participate in

the Walk, including many of our Plaza

residents who were wheeled by staff

members! Another impressive fact is

that we raised $1,427 just at registration

the day of the Walk. This puts Team

Edgemere’s grand fundraising total thus

far at $26,344.66!!!! We want to extend

our deepest gratitude to all who walked,

donated, or just helped support us

throughtout this process. Together we

can find a cure for this disease.

We will be going to

the Texas State Fair

on Thursday,

October 16 at 10 am. Staff and Volunteers

join in on the fun as they push the residents

in wheelchairs. So please don’t let any

physical limitations prevent you from

going. The outing will cost $50 per

resident. This pays for 5 sheets of coupons

to be used by the resident and the volunteer

assisting them. We have a lot of fun each

year, so please join us by signing up with

Carrie at 214-623-6108.

Edgemere Wins Eighth Double Diamond Award

Edgemere was one of only five communities nationwide to be recognized as a Diamond

Award recipient in Greystone’s Distinctive Service Recognition Program (DSRP).

Greystone is one of the top senior living community developers in the nation and was

part of the development team for

Edgemere.

This is Edgemere’s eighth year in a

row to be given this distinction— a

double diamond! The Diamond

Award spotlights communities with

leadership that is reliable, dependable,

and trustworthy. Hallmarks

distinguishing winning communities

are progressiveness, persistence, and

proactivity. A double diamond means

we’ve gone above and beyond!

To qualify for the Diamond Award, a

community must meet stringent

criteria on ten operational benchmarks. The operational benchmarks include a resident

expectation survey, employee expectation survey, first impression visits, financial ratios,

hospitality culture implementation, task force participation, professional employee

growth, leadership development, successful licensure and community accomplishments.

Thank you, Greystone!
