Welcome students and guests to the inaugural “One Day Immersion in TV, Cable and Digital Entertainment (ODI) – Wild West” conference! We are thrilled to host this event, Presented by The Cable Center, in Denver today.

ODI Wild West will offer you real world advice and anecdotes from some of the media industry’s top executives from Colorado and beyond. It’s your job to give them your attention, ask thoughtful questions and know that you are among friends. Our speak-ers have committed their time to be with you today, and hope that you take advantage of their participation by asking those thoughtful questions and offering your opinions.

We have a robust program filled with informative, idea-charged panels and networking opportunities. We’ll also hear from one of the industry’s most prominent thought leaders – Evan Shapiro, executive vice president, digital enterprises, NBCUniversal. I can personally attest to Evan’s passion and focus on the millennial generation. He’s one of the most talented, generous, informed and coolest media leaders around!

Please be sure to stay for the networking reception that follows today’s program to meet and talk further with some of today’s guest speakers and attendees.

Each of you brings something special and unique to the table. If you haven’t figured out what it is yet…you will. Keep your minds open and try to make at least 5 new contacts today, not only with the speakers but with your peers. Those social introductions could turn into important networking opportunities.

Thank you for being here today. It’s going to be a great day of education!

Warmest regards,

Dolly Wolf

Panels

Keynote:“It’shardtostandoutwhenyou’realwaysbusyfittingin.” In a world obsessed with social networking and technology, most people freely submit to the wisdom of the crowd, and willingly fall into a multiple choice personality - created FOR you by Facebook, LinkedIn, Apple and Microsoft. Yes, these are all powerful tools to help you succeed in business and life - but IF you let these electronic lock-ins define you, they will. To stand out, you have to focus on your most important and natural talent - being you.

Evan Shapiro, EVP, Digital Enterprises, NBCUniversal

EVANSHAPIRO,EVP Digital Enterprises, NBCUniversal / ODI Co-Chair / Wild West Keynote Speaker

It’s been my experience that Evan Shapiro is someone who consistently generates a movement to be a better person; to give more, to do more, to make a positive impact where ever you go, and to not waste your time in negative head space. He’s been supporting academic initiatives for many, many years, and continues to make a deep footprint in media.

I have an abundance of gratitude and appreciation for someone who stays in your corner, while sharing his time as a dedicated family man, philanthropist, mentor, millennial expert, adjunct professor, and a top media executive with major goals to hit.

Thank you, Evan, for your unwavering support, and for flying across the country today to get in front of some of the best students in Colorado! What a great way to kick off the day.
